Ok so Im new to the toyota family I have had lifted jeeps in the past with no problems but I have a 2010 Taco Double cab short bed with a 3 inch spacer lift up front and a 2 inch block in the rear the kit came with hydro shocks for the rear and I put on a set of pro comp xterrain 285/75/16 with helo wheels ever since I lifted it and put the new tires on I have had the shaking/ bouncing problem coming from the rear the front is just as smooth as the day I got the truck and it rides fine with no shaking until I hit around 45-47mph I have had the tires ballanced 3 times and I have double checked the u bolt torque 4-5 times and they are fine and I have adjusted the tire pressure to 32 psi, but I still have the shaking I am thinking that my problem could be the hydro shocks and I was thinking that I should maybe look into some bilstien shocks!!!! But besides that I have no clue what else the problem could be!!! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!!!

Could be driveline vibration from the lift. Not sure of the tread but if you search for it I think it will turn up. It involves pjtting 1/4 in spacers right by the u joint

Probably from the angle of the driveshaft. Toytec makes a 3 degree shim that might fix this, or a carrier bearing drop.

This, plus using a spacer lift tends to jack up your suspension geometry which usually means getting a stiffer ride to boot. A true case of you "get what you pay for"

How's that possible? If you sneeze on a jeep, you get vibes! J/K

Rotate your tires....... Does the vibration change (position/feel, etc)? If YES, then its in your tires/wheels. Check your wheel weights in case one came off. Do you do any offroading? A bent wheel can cause vibrations also.

If this is not the case..... When does the vibration occur the most? Cruising along at what speed? Does it happen mostly upon acceleration or deceleration? or both..... What happens when you come to a stop? What happens when you start moving from a stop?

With only 2" of lift, I'm not sure you have driveline vibes but it sounds more like AXLE WRAP. If this is an accurate assumption, then you need to DITCH the rear block and get a replacement leaf pak or an Add-a-leaf.

If you can drive through the vibration (meaning: it starts at 45mph and stops at 65/70/80 mph), it's a balance issue. In that instance, I would get those beefy tires/wheels roadforce balanced (rather than regular balancing).

If the vibration isn't something you can drive through, then it's either drivetrain or suspension. Does the shudder get worse under acceleration up a hill? If so, drivetrain is a likely culprit.

    Good luck.
