Yes it was a kid but chances are it wasn't just one kid throwing rocks. It was more than likely a group and if it was dark who is to say the officer knew it was a kid. I have met many a Mexican that were much older than they appear. Chances are the officer was in a hail of rocks and took a shot at the first person he could target. I highly doubt that this would have happened if it were just one kid throwing rocks.

ok but firing a gun at a 15yr old kid, if i was looking at a kid throwing a fast ball probably still have reaction time to move or put my hands up. people can still dodge rocks but you try to dodge a bullet. and shoot in the air. he'll have to live with the fact he took a kids life, because he felt threaten with rocks.

I feel sorry for the kid, but he should never have put himself in that situation. He is the one that decided to break the law by crossing the border illegally, and then attempted to assault the people putting their lives on the line to protect our country and freedom. While it is very unfortunate that the kid lost his life, he is the one that put his own life in danger.

exactly... I like that it isnt easy to get here....we dont need any more people here.. we have enough as it is.. these immigrants, legal or not... are taking jobs that the unemployed could be taking because they are willing to work for a cheaper price.

If you all think it was justified, then it was nessacary. The roe is so restrictive for leos, it's Counterproductive to their saftey. Is it a travesty, you bet, there is a mother that will never see her son grow up. That being said, the kid made a choice, like the song goes, he fought the law and the law won.

For those saying it was just a kid....Ask a Vietnam vet what he thinks about what a kid can do. I know one is using rocks and one bombs but I would defend myself and go home to my family before I thought hey its a kid throwing rocks at me. Its not like they were in a residential neighborhood and some rocks came their way.

If you don't want to get shot, Don't try to come here illegally AND throw rocks.

There was most likely a group there, with multiple people throwing rocks at the same time... That being said, come on over to Virginia and me and 5 of my buddies will hurl rocks at you and see what you can do. I can promise you that you will get hit and you will be in immediate danger.

What would happen if he incapacitates the agent?
He could get the weapon out of the agents holster.
This already happened in the past to an agent.

Right and he'll be able to talk about it with his wife and kids for years to come because he didn't wait to see what could have happened.

This reminds me of the story that took place in Texas if I remember right recently where a teenager was breaking into someones home at 2am and got shot and killed by the homeowner. The parents were up in arms crying about how "He was a good boy" yada yada. Right because good kids break into homes at 2 am and than when they end up dead the homeowner is an asshole for protecting his family. This border issue just shows the epidemic that I call the Pussification of America. If we used deadly force on border jumpers more often I bet they would think twice about crossing illegally. But since we welcome them with open arms why wouldn't they try to cross illegally. Shit, they know us stupid Americans will go to work everyday to pay taxes so they can live the American dream.
