If you're talking Reddish knob that's paved on top with guard rails all around it, Beth and I went up there after leaving Casper. We got caught in a severe thunderstorm/winds/rain/hail up there! The view was amazing while three storm approached.

Yup it always wants to rain while I'm up there. The thunder bouncing off the mountains is pretty cool too !!

You hailed your trailer up Union Springs? I bet that was challenging. I’d like to do it in just the truck

It was fun and a little scary at times. Trailer did amazing. I'm really surprised I didn't flip it. Had the truck on 3 wheels a couple times. That route has gotten really washed out.

I need to come up there and get you to show me around those trails. I'm thinking about maybe a Dec./Jan. camping trip up at FPK.

Uh, I've only been once. I hope to go again. It'll be cold that time of year and I mean COLD. It was a fun trip and quite an adventure at least for me.

I camped in WY when I lived there in - temps it'll be fine lol. I like cold weather camping only the hardcore guys will come out so it's usually super quiet.

No hurry glad to see you jump in! I hope all is well. You'll see why I haven't done much to the truck this year when you read through this.

Oh I bet it's slow with a trailer. I am looking into a trailer build. Would like to do something around a 4x8. For now I'd like it to haul camping gear, tools, spares, etc to and from my weekend wheeling trips so that I can leave all that stuff locked up at base camp while I wheel the parks. But it would also be nice to tug around to a base camp in the mtns and then disconnect and go exploring all the fire roads and other off the beaten path areas.

Once I get a few more things settled, perhaps next year, I really want to make a run down your way and do Uhawrrie. I also want to do the overland expo and now we're self sufficient I can camp there. Christie's Father lives in a retirement/ nursing community in Brevard right below Asheville.

Brevard is a nice area. I'd like to go to overland expo just to check it out. Even though overlanding the way it is isn't really my thing there is always cool gear, vendors, and rigs to check out and get ideas off of. Not to mention it seems like there is a cool community to camp with and hang out with all weekend.

LOL yeah even though we're just getting started IDK what you'd call us not expo, not necessarily overland, more just like 2 old folks with a truck and a camper screwing around

I don't really fit into a mold either. I find wheeling hard trails and parks fun but also get enjoyment out of taking my truck to areas not accessible to the avg. vehicle and exploring and camping. I'm an almost middle aged restless soul.

Just be careful. Many spots at FPK the trail doubles as drainage. Many spots in the trail turn to a sheet of ice under the leaves when it's cold. There is a trip report about it somewhere on TW

Winter is very unpredictable for me as working at a major airport we’re required to be present for snow removal. Still something to consider

Well I got one in still waiting on the other. Fulton 5k drop leg jack.

These will replace the stock stabilizers especially since they’re not actual jacks and these are. These should afford more clearance. Yes quite a bit of overkill still developing a plan to raise the camper some for even more clearance. ALS because I only have 1 front stabilizer left after Flag Pole. Lol
