Ok I just wrote a whole thread and lost it. So here we go again.

So where can I complain nationally about a local dealership.

They have done a bait and switch with my extended warranty. Said I wanted $2400 package then paperwork says $3200. Called and complained to no avail and loan officer said I needed it. Wtf

Also asked why I needed it since i had certified warranty for 7 years. He said the extended cover drive train. Certified doesn't . I was supposed to also have factory warranty left and he said that the extended would start when it ran out. Did not tell me I lost factory warranty when they certified it to get me lower interest rate. I don't even think they did the certified inspection. Am I an idiot?

Boesides all that, truck was never detailed as promised and they said they msil me touch up paint that never came.

I scheduled an appointment for transmission software update online because tranny seems a little boggy and not shifting right. Checked the box for a call back and commented thst I wanted to make sure it was covered under warranty. No call. Wtf

What bait and switch? Didn't you see the paperwork and numbers before you signed on the lines? I don't know the whole story but from what you posted something isn't adding up and it seems just as much your fault for not paying attention to what you were buying as much as the finance guy trying to pull a quick one on you. Just my 2 cents.

Why didn't you walk out of the dealer instead of buying it?

If it is a Toyota Warranty you can cancel it and get a refund, but its hard to know what you bought or signed.

Yeah if you signed the paperwork with their numbers, you're screwed. Verbal understanding is one thing, but signed documentation is another. It's not a matter of what promises were made, but what did you agree to in writing.

Your drivetrain is covered for 5/60 through Toyota. You also have roadside assistance that time. You honestly don't need extended warranties on these trucks unless you can get them for hundreds of dollars, not thousands.

Also when a dealer sells a vehicle as CPO, they have already tacked on a price for the warranty, if they tell you no they are liars.

Yup, the thing that is going to matter is signed documentation. Verbal agreements don’t mean squat in modern day courtroom. Toyota Corp is only going to have a he said/she said scenario with only signed docs as actual evidence to resolve a dispute. They will however, compel the dealership to perform the TSB, maybe toss in the touch up paint as good will, and let you out of the extended warranty on a pro-rated amount if that applies.

When we bought ours, my wife and double and triple checked the numbers to make sure they were what our salesman promised.

Dealerships are not owned by Toyota, they are all their own privately held companies. If you have a Toyota specific problem, like a warranty, you call Toyota. If they have deceptive business practice, you go to Better Business Bureau or courts. Good luck. I would just go to a different dealer.

Yeah it sucks because i was there for 4 hours and they did everything on a tablet. Then they kept flipping the screen and explained what each thing was but didnt give me time to read. My fault but they were still deceptive.

Just enjoy the truck man. It sucks to feel burned on a buy, but your truck looks sweet and be happy. Also never use that dealer for anything in the future.

People reduce their agreements to writing to lend clarity and enforceability to their relationship. Yeah sounds like you fucked up by not getting the I said in writing.

Truck looks totally different now. All blacked out. Bull bar on front. Rain gaurds and bug deflector. Black tube running board with the steps and 2" lift. Thats just the outside so far. Gotta get some beefier tires and doing the fender flares. Changed front grill. Took chrome fender ends off, sanded and did bed liner on them. They look the nuts for cheap money.

So is there actually a difference between the certified warranty and the extended warranty?

I believe a Certified Preowned Toyota comes with a 7/100K Warranty.

They are not owned by Toyota but they still have to answer to them and can loose franchise rights for abusing customers, though this doesn't look like it happened here. The BBB is a private company despite what the name implies, has less authority than Yelp and it can't do anything but give some one a bad rating. Court would cost you more than you already spent and then you would lose anyway if they have the signed contract. I'd ask for a refund and never go to this dealer again.

True, but it takes a lot to F up a dealership OEM relationship. Basically your power with a dealership resides in your wallet.

Always read everything before signing, and get verbal promises and agreements in writing!
