Has anyone installed DTF solid motor mounts?
I’m having a hell of a time. Seems as though they are too short.

I can’t get the oem bolts started on both sides to draw the mounts outward toward the frame.

I tried using a longer bolt to start bridging the gap, but that racks the bushing to the point that the other bolt hole is out of alignment.

If I let the engine all the way down the disconnected side aligns the bolt holes one inch lower than the frame perch’s holes.

I read here that the frame they were mocked up on may have been a little tweaked. Searching it should bring up something... If they don't work out the @Bonzen / solidoffroad on IG ones were perfect on my 1st gen with a little love from a plastic mallet while lining things up - all bolts dropped in w/o force.

Dang. Just threw them in while installing URD headers. I’d lose my mind if I had to uninstall everything I just did. Not only that, they weren’t cheap.

I think @12TRDTacoma has installed them. I haven’t installed mine. I was planning to install them this week. I guess I’ll wait till others chime in before I tear my truck apart

I’m getting there. Perseverance is paying off. I’m concerned by what all of this outward pulling force will have on bushing life etc.
It’s very tight quarters with the URD headers. If you have the regular manifolds it will be much easier. If you’re a prerunner, easier still.

I took a break for some food. About to head back out.

I wish Tim at DMZ would advertise all of his products on his website. Had I known he made solid motor mounts I would have purchased them when I picked up the gussets. Oh well.

They were not mocked up on a Tacoma that was tweaked, Jordan's truck was tweaked but DTF didn't mock the mounts off his truck.

    @dillonk1602 it's an Optima yellow top D35

Right - my bad. Here's what I had been thinking of @Hawk373 @glorifiedwelder

On another note I've been checking out your blue first gen build and considering the lsk first gen cantilever. I'm curious whether the on road handling dynamics changed at all when going from stock to the new setup?

That blue truck was always a little funky. I bought it with what I thought was a steering rack issue. The truck had really bad vibes at highway speeds and they didn't go away after replacing the steering rack, inner/outer tie rods, wheels/tires, U joints, Carrier bearing, shocks.

But as far as the Canti Kit, I loved it. Truck drove as good as it ever had with the kit, and having a full bed with LT capabilities was awesome.
Fab work by LSK was top notch too.

Always give Tim a call. Dude knows his stuff. I got his engine/ trans mounts and the fit damn near perfect. Heard of the difficulties with solid motor mount installs and was scared before getting to mine. No issues at all with any of his products.

I think I see where the end of it is bent up too unless it's camera angle.

I actually installed @Bonzen mounts guys.

From what I remember DTF's engine mounts were designed around a slightly bent frame so that would explain why you are having a difficult time installing them. I feel for you too, installing engine mounts is no easy task on these trucks, unless you are a prerunner 2WD.

Even 2wd motor mounts suck. First gens are the worse. Been through 3 different options and all have broke
