What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Scour craigslist if you can. I had brand new leafs given to me when I got my frame swap, sold them for the cost of Dakars.

 

Parted out tacomas are hard to find up here. Will look for sure but have low hopes.

Got a set from wju. Worked fine as replacements. I got another set of leaf's from a member in Dallas, wheelers 5 pack I think, and bilstein 5100's.

 

Just about sent a dead tree through my radiator this morning, wasn’t neat.





But the sun rise was.

 

How the hell that happen?

 

Road trip home to New Orleans, I didn't notice it until I was half tired at a gas station taking my dog for a leak, I have officially notice the taco lean.

 

Well I was driving down a 2 track and got distracted and kinda went for the road a bit.

Dead tree laying on the ground went through the little vent thing in the lower bumper and stopped on the bracket that holds the skid.

 

Holy hell....

 

What com do you have? See a couple mag antennas

 

Just a ham radio, the others ones a long range gps antenna to keep track of dogs.

 

I should get rid of my CB and get ham. Feel like thats what everyone uses now.

 

All my friends have one, way nicer than trying to find service.


I don’t know a single person with a cb

 

I rarely see anyone using CB anymore on the trails, if they are then they have both...but most are on HAM now.

 

Guess I joined the cb game to late

 

time to upgrade. Lol gotta wait until I can afford it lol. I have a handheld HAM in the mean time.

 

I gotta get my license first. Can a ham radio use the same antenna as the cb?

I have this, work fine for me.


I know a guy that just plugs his hand held into a long range antenna and he does just fine it seems.

 

phew, good thing I didn't buy a cb yet.
