Absolutely! A dealer breaks manufacturer policies and procedures to do a customer a solid and they get audited because they are listed out on a thread about dealers that do so. That’s not cool at all. An audit can bring forth heavy fines. It can even lead to a dealer losing their franchise. So yes, it could potentially be a bad thing.

Me too. Any issues with service there? I have been thinking of DIY to avoid issues.

    Hey OP,

Maybe itd be a good idea to request best Sales and Best service dealers considering they tend to be different departments separate of each other.

Seattle Eastside - Michael's in Bellevue is much better than Toyota of Kirkland.

ToK missed a head gasket on my Sienna van, and now I won't go near them w/ my truck.

Toyota of Bristol and Johnson City Tenn. Toyota would not do the tsb because it did not show a code for it.

No issues as of yet. I don't really expect any.
I'm going to put in an old man emu full setup.
They sell that setup at Koch 33 so I'm pretty much good if any issues come up.

My experience there has varied. I’ve only brought up TSB stuff at a regular service appointment and they always say I need to schedule another appointment to look into it. Once (trip meter reset) I had to bring in a copy of the TSB. But when they did the work it was fast and no pushback. That was for combo meter and for the initial trans programming TSB. Truck runs great now with 50K miles.

    1. South Hills Toyota in Pa. took in for clutch shudder, and sticking when cold, weeping diff., and 5k service. Tech was an ass, said you should NOT slip he clutch when starting out in first and reverse. He tried several times to start out while hill hold was holding, and stalled each time. He said clutch works as designed and was a timing thing. The weeping diff, when I spoke to service manager, said no recall for it. I said well isn't it under warranty and nothing... They did the 5k inspection in like 2 secs so I looked at all the things they are supposed to look at, not even close.

    2. Greensburg Toyota Pa. Same stuff, said worked as designed but the diff was no issue. They said no weeping so I looked, it was clean as a whistle, like after cleaing with brake clean. The manager have me a line that they make money off warranty so why wouldn't he want to fix it. He did acknowledge the clutch sticking though but not shudder.

    3. Back to South Hills Toyota for oil change. They kinda kiss ass now.... don't know if they read others complaints.

Very few care about what they do anymore, this is the society we live in.

I have 3 friends at 3 different dealers 2 are service managers and one is writer, not Toyota. I explained and showed them my issues. We are all in agreement that they are not very professional....

Auburn WA, Doxon Toyota, no issues dealing with recalls or warranty work.
Only thing worth mentioning is that they scratched severel pieces of trim on the inside at 5k service.
