    Talked to a GEICO agent about an hour ago. I can buy a used cap and they'll reimburse me, less my $500 deductible.

    No. There is a $1000 total limit because I didn't include the cap under "custom parts," so it wasn't technically covered.

    I made the mistake of being honest. If I told them a big pine cone hit it, then I wouldn't have a deductible.

    Best case scenario, I can get a $1000 cap for $500.

    The glass is curved and frameless. I'd need a way to attach the hinges, gas struts, and latch mech. Plexiglass alone wouldn't work.
