Can you show a couple good photos of that switch and how it fits and looks?

Its not exactly the switch you are looking for, but similar and hope it helps. I have a different rocker face, but the same style switch installed. I started with a blank

Then I went with a custom rocker. My set up shows knock-out blanks in the unused switch openings. The switch itself fit well in the Otrattw switch plate. But I did have to massage the plate and the cubby a little to get them to fit together. Here are a few pictures of it with the etched rocker20180822_173140.jpg 20180822_173147.jpg 20180822_173208.jpg

I have one of the DPDT switches that I'm not going to use that I’d sell at cost to someone.

I was able to score one of JJ’s kits from a member on here, Kit works great.

But does anyone know how to install the diodes!?

Sorry random question, but do you know the dimensions/or any accessory switches the same size as your clutch cancel button?

Thanks for the help, I wonder if these can be installed closer to the switches.

It doesn't matter where along that red wire you install. I believe it was JJ who recommended to solder a piece of wire to each end of the diode and then heat shrink (just don't forget the orientation)

Just for JJ’s kit or for every kit?
I bought a different kit and it’s on the way. Just wondering if it’s totally necessary for install, if so I’ll buy one.

I am not familiar with any of the other kits. The diodes in JJ's kit isolate the signal so that you can push the front camera switch without pushing the rear switch first.

I do not. I will try to get some measurements when I got to lunch today. I never really noticed before that it is a different size than the rest of the OEM buttons.

Ah. So it sounds like it may only be needed if you want the front and rear camera options. I just want to be able to turn on my back camera anytime.

Best I can measure with a picture of a scale laid across the switch, the opening is about 1.57" x 0.85", (39.9mm x 21.6mm). So I would guess it would be marketed as 39mm x 21mm OEM style switch

    20180824_183833.jpg 20180824_183803.jpg

Oddly enough, laying the scale across the cargo light switch yielded about the same results, ( that was the only other switch in the vehicle that had close to the same dimensions). It's a little tougher to measure because the rocker ends stick up. I can try to get the points of a set of calipers on the openings if you would like some more detailed dimensions.20180824_200138.jpg 20180824_200120.jpg

I don't know how the kit you ordered is configured but a diode is necessary for an anytime backup camera. I would be almost certain that yours will have it installed already or it would not be a very good kit.

The purpose of the diode in your case is to allow you to activate the backup camera without turning on the reverse lights and sending a signal to the computer that the truck is in reverse when it is actually going down the freeway at 70. If the diode is not installed to prevent the feedback your reverse lights will come on when you press the switch and if you put it in drive you will light up some dash lights (stability control and possibly a couple more).

If anyone has some questions on how to wire up a kit, let me know and I will try to help you out. I actually made this schematic for JJ and I think it is the one he sent out with the kit.

I am trying to use the diodes to avoid turning on the rear camera first in order to turn on the front camera.

This kit is a good alternative and through August the 15% TW discount AUG18 works
