Holy damn Ben! Thanks for the shots of a nice color-match! I can hardly wait to put my white set on the truck. I might have to cut this trip short to make it happen.:annoyed:

How’s that rear door of the rack coming along? I think the headache rack has a nice and close resemblance to what the rear door closing off the bed might look like.

Whatcha think? My :spending:is all set.

Hey Ben ( @Dissent86 ), I know you're busy but any chance you have plans or interest in doing a molle panel to attach to the cab rack to cover the rear glass?

Hadn't really planned on it for the bed rack but I suppose I could.
I will. E doing one for the new headache rack so I could draw one up for the bed rack at the same time.

IMG_1294.jpg Still need to call softtopper and see what options they have for the first gen. Some of the softtoppers I have seen on the first gen do not follow the cab well.

Yea, they are a little squirrelly between the cab and bed. That 1st gen shown must be the only year they had the factory roof rack. I see no other way of mounting the cab portion to non factory rail 1st gens. Looks good though.

Got the light bar mounted. I went with a 40" from KC Hilites and it's a great fit. I just had to enlarge the bolt slots to fit the 8mm bolts. Their webpage showed $485 for the light, but I got it on Amazon for $320. I didn't want to pay the $900-1k for the Rigid, but I still wanted good quality for the main bar. Will probably stick with KC for ditch. For the sides and rear I can go with Nilights or Opt7.

I also had a lot of wind noise before mounting the light bar, but it's mostly gone now with it mounted, so VERY happy about that ;)

Has anyone used a sheet of aluminum to cover the whole top between the black sides? I'm wondering if that will reduce drag and wind noise for long road trips (although wind noise isn't really that bad). My softtopper shakes more than it used to at 70+ which means turbulence, which means drag. The slot pattern of the crossbars would be mostly copied over for bolting it down as well as other items. It would also help with the pressure differential at high speeds.

The sheet would go in the area shows by the arrows and bolt down. Thoughts?

I'd really like a shot of the roof bars on the bed portion.

how fast can they be removed? Will the rack support itself with only 1 or 2 bars while going down the road, etc?
