Oi, any of you guys within driving distance of Tampa have a set of A/C gauges and the knowledge to use them? I suspect I might have been sabotaged. Either that or my evaporator is packed full of crap, but my A/C was blowing cold before I took it for the alignment and it wasn't when I left and the tech did drive it around the corner out of my sight and was gone for a suspiciously long time. I'm suspecting he let the refrigerant out so they could sell me some supposedly leaking very expensive part. Since pretty much my entire A/C system is about 2 or 3 years old with very few miles on it, I'm seriously thinking sabotage.

 

Dam that sucks are the caps on all the ports? And signs of a puncture

 

Honestly, i haven't really looked. I did just check the temps. It it stablized about 53.3* but when I checked the T4R, it got down to 41* and was still dropping before I shut it down due to cold fingers. I'm hoping if it was sabotage and not just a plugged up evaporator, that all he did was let the refrigerant out and not physically damage anything so they could charge me for a part they never put in and just refilled the refrigerant. It'd be very stupid of them to have tried that with me. I've been in there enough that they know I know my shit from apple butter.

 

You can get a gauge set at Harbor freight to look at your pressures. Also, dash cam pick up at least a A119C for about $50 or less on Amazon.

 

I wouldn't know what I was looking at. I was a jet mechanic. I know the principles about how it works, but I worked with air cycle machines for air conditioning. Basically a big turbo driven by bleed air from the compressor of the turbine engine, compressed, then ran through a heat exchanger then back through the other side of the turbo where it expanded and became cold air ducted into the aircraft.

I know there's plenty of Youtube videos on how to do the A/C stuff, but I was looking for someone who had the gear and the knowledge to help a brother out. Got too much other crap on my plate right now to stumble through learning how to do something basically from scratch.

Haha, I vowed after finishing Rick's cab lights, I wasn't doing a damn thing that'd make me sweat for the rest of the month except mow the grass. It's actually been easier than I expected to hold to that. Only a little over a week to go and I haven't exploded yet.

 

Today I was off work but did yard work and stuff around the house.
Changed the mower blades, mowed, picked up 6 40lbs bags of salt for my softener, put up small fence panels to hide my garbage can and softener for Hoa.(but I can do what I do out of my garage) picked up some iron out to spray the garage door that turned to a burnt rust color. Have to finish my driveway tomorrow. Need to weld Ryan’s sliders up soon if he ordered my diff cover if not I’ll wait longer @Stormtrooper_08.
Sunday I’ll be doing 2 cab mount chops possibly one is confirmed. May pull my rear bumper to start a new one.

 

Jebus! That almost made me sweat just reading it! I might have to take a nap now.

My neighborhood supposedly voted in an HOA a couple of years ago. Haven't heard a peep from it and even if they did come at me with something I'd tell them to go pack sand. I figure having lived hear since the year of our Lord, nineteen hundred eighty-six, at least 30 years before it came into existence, and never having signed any agreement to abide by its rules, they can kiss my lily white backside. Worst they can do it report me to code enforcement for violating city ordinances should they get the opportunity to do so.

I did get a bit of a shock yesterday. Looked up the market value of the house. We poor as church mice, but we're sitting on a house valued at $188k that we only owe about $58k on. It's actually pretty tempting to cash out now and go find a piece of land out between No and Where and build a new house...with a big-ass, air-conditioned garage to work on the OGT in, haha.

Been busy this way... new shocks and steps/sliders on my dad's jeep, harness bar for the inside of my truck (already scrapped most of what's in the pic, I changed my mind lol), some pipe welding at work and a bumper build coming soon. After all this shit, I'm taking a couple months off from side work

 

Hows the new shed coming? All finished and in service yet?

 

Lol, not even close. It's been cleaned out more, burned a lot of the old wood and shit that was termite infested in it. Been slow with a lot on my plate lately
