Has anyone had a fitment issue with the 2018 Garnish install? It seems to go in further from the top side and doesn't align with the grille cutout. The bottom portion with the clip is aligned perfectly...

 

That’s cool I grew up in PH. Be cool to get other locals down at the causeway or Clearwater beach.

 

Install the from the top down. Meaning, push the top part in first and then the bottom tabs second. I had the same issue when I aligned the bottom tabs first.

 

I had a buddy pick one up for me in July. We finally got together for the handoff. A whole 30 minutes later and it is installed. Looks great!
The only "issue" is the "gap" at the top, but that appears to be totally normal. I think it is just more noticeable because my truck is white, so it shows up more....either way, it looks great!!

my question is at this point...where would you get the sensor that fits this grille. how much? and are these OEM grills? or just OEM look alikes?

 

oh and how would you hoook up the sensor

 

There's a spot in the TRD grill towards the bottom where you can screw the sensor in. You have a few different options as to what to do after.

1. Get a Toyota Garnish off ebay. This is the most OEM route. You'll remove a part of the TRD Grill and place the garnish cover over that area. This is the most OEM route.
2. Leave the original part of the TRD grill on and don't get the sensor. You may run into error codes since the senor may not be able to get the signal past the grill.
3. Create your own solution. Some don't like the garnish sensor. So they leave the TRD grill portion on and create a fiberglass plastic that goes behind the grill.
