    getting there....
well, as many of you know, i traded my 06 prerunner in on an 04 dc trd 4x4 a couple of months ago. when i got the 04, the "dealershits", in an attempt to be themselves, which they did a fine job i may add:rolleyes:, didnt do squat for their 160 point inspections. alot of things on the truck were worn out.....the whole suspension, the steering rack bushings, sway bar bushings, shocks and brakes. so alomst immediately, i went to work on getting it back in top form, as it should have been. here is what she looked like when i picked her up......

first, i did a major tuneup on the truck....the usual...all the fluids, filters, diffs and tranny. still was less than impressed with the way the truck rode, so i got myself a set of billy 5100's, and with tigerfan00's help, we got them installed, along with doing the gray wire mod, and the week before, i did the deck plate mod, so now, the truck is running good, and riding ok, but steering still sucks, and there is lots of axle wrap. here are the shocks, and deck plate mod...

after that, i decided that i was wanting to go with a cool black/silver theme, so i found a nice set of steelies on ebay and purchased them. also, close to the same time, i decided to take my emblems off and black them out.........i thought it would look cool, and after finishing, i love the look. also, i needed a toolbox, so boobs mcgee would quit bitchin bout my tools laying in our living room floor, so i found a black uws low-pro box perfect for my truck with the help of jhodge83..he found it on ttora, so i took a 2.5 hour ride to go get it. the black accessories make the truck look way better than stock, so i am pleased with how its coming along. also, just this week, i removed the nerf bars.....looks much better.

with all that done, i decided after the shitty axle wrap, that it was time for new springs, poly bushings, and steering rack/sway bar bushings....from energy suspension. got the sway bar bushings in today...not too bad of an install, and the dealership replaced the entire steering rack under warranty, so the truck steers alot better now. i have ordered my wheelers 5 pack rear leafs and ome 881 coils, and my goodridge g-stop braided brake lines, so now im waiting for my coils to come in to get all that installed. that will be this weekend, the 28th. also, gonna do the rear diff breather extension soon. i have the mag lite mount mod done also. also, i have a set of wheelers 15x8 steelies and a good set of goodyear wrangler mtr's coming very soon too. as you can see, im not a fan of chrome, so im on a mission to get rid of all the chrome, including using bed liner on my bumpers, which is yet to come. my build is far from over, but im headed in the right direction, so as they come available(when i get all installed:D) more pics will be available as i finish each mod.:)

today, while i sat here bored, i removed the ipf rectangle driving lights and also the westin safari bar. i wasnt real crazy about it to begin with, and now, to me, it looks way better without it. im planning a brushguard one of these days, but thats gonna be a while yet. so.............no more nerf bars or safari bar:D. when i get done...it'll be the way i like it, not the way i got it for sure!!

    hey uncle frank!!!!!!!:D

i like the westin safari bar and all, but its kinda like when i had my bull bar on my 06.......i liked it for a while, but after a while, it just didnt really do anything for me. plus, i'd have to take it off anyway when i bed line the bumpers. the westin safari bar on mine had some dings and stuff, which is fine with me,cause im gonna do that when i wheel anyway, but i have always wanted a full brush guard anyway too, so i think i'll get more use outta the brushguard over the safari bar.

your truck still looks awesome and pristine though uncle frank!!! and the safari bar looks better on your ride too, i think.:D

Aw its all good Will:) to each their own I say!!! The mods you are doing actually IMO require a meaner look up front:cool: so hence the full guard for sure:)
