Ah man no kidding. I live up the rat and have been dealing with the third world roads that knife river has been making while they build those worlocks. I thought for sure the MR2 was going to shatter a control arm today.

Hello everybody,

I was TDY once at Great Falls when I was in the USAF. I drove through the state and loved it. I hate big cities, and with that Montana always seemed to be the state for me.

My job has moved me around, met my wife here in Louisiana. Funny thing is, she lived in Fort Collins, CO for a while and really wants to get back out west. I just got a transfer and I'm going to Helena, MT!

I've kept my Tacoma stock as far as ride height and suspension, but have already done the Hurst shifter and various tasteful electronic mods. I look forward to getting out there (start Nov 11) and maybe meeting up with a few of you. Let me know if any of you have any suggestions about where to live or just tips on the move up North/west.

I bought the Tacoma June of this year and the shifter a few weeks later. I read a lot of the Hurst shifter thread and mine is the latest, refined shifter, and it sits in the center like factory. I love that thing and the install was cake. Only 1k miles since install, no complaints so far. It is a huge improvement from stock. My Taco is the bad weather driver, the '70 k5 drives on nice days which are rare in my armpit of a state!

Right? Bought it on the cheap after someone did a backyard electric conversion. It appeared they promptly destroyed the passenger side cv joint with the first test drive (its got big torque). Patched it up, put some batteries in it, boom.
You know how boring the winters can get around here?! Gotta stay busy with something.

 

'70 k5???? Man that's been on my list for awhile. We make it over to Helena fairly often. Will have to hit you up sometime and grab a beer after you get moved.
