Mornin'. It's Friday for me!

 

1.5 days left! Then the last camping trip!

 

That's bitter sweet. Great for camping, sucks it's your last trip this early in the season. I hope to be camping into October!

 

There is no such thing as the last camping trip.

 

Honestly around here 1000 feet would probably be plenty; most of the roads around here don't go in a straight line for that sort of distance anyway

Why the last? You've got a camper; you could easily camp into December if the heater works!

 

Getting ready for the annual trip up to NB to see my family. I was born and raised up there. Wondering about taking the Taco or the Prius. Slight difference in payload (if we bring the kids' bikes so they can try the trails in Fredericton), and gas mileage (45.4 vs. 21).

I agree, it's not the distance that's the deal breaker though. If you can get a focused beam to throw light 1,000', in my opinion, that's perfect. The problem with combo bars is, they also light everything directly in front of the truck as well. Your eyes will naturally focus on things close to the front of the truck, making the long range part of the light bar useless. Even though you have light out 1,000', your eyes are focused 10' in front of you.

 

I would love a lightbar but I don't know why, the LED projectors and fogs on my Sierra are insane. I get blinded by my own lights in reflective signs.

 

I was going to say, don't most callers have a propane heater?

 

Lol. Yeah, there's also a slight difference in driving feel between a 5-speed taco and a CVT Prius.

 

I will say this Geoff... and let the begin, but...

When the Mrs and I were at the Chevy/GMC dealership, they had a black Sierra on the lot... looked bad ass A.F.

How was the Denali you looked at last weekend?

 

That’s how I feel about the headlights in my MIL’s new RAV4. I was driving it last night and her lights are so bright it blinded me while driving haha I thought the high beams were on

 

I do like the front ends on the new GMC's. They did a good job of dressing up the headlights. If they weren't such chin-draggers they'd be tempting, but the GF's dad has a '15 that practically scrapes the air dam pulling into our driveway. With a plow on the front it looks like it's doing a handstand.

 

Yup heater works, really well I might add. But yea after this one it'll be winterized then serviced for a couple small things under warranty. then brought back home, washed cleaned, covered up for the incoming winter. We don't have any more time off to use and she'll be busy with her masters and me with a possible machine shop class

Wife loved it because it has all the bells and whistles she wanted. It has a few "problems" though. Since it's used, it obviously had some scratches here and there, but nothing too crazy. It has a panoramic roof in the back, and the sun shade was off the track or something like that and needed to be fixed. Supposed to come with two wireless headsets for the DVD player, but they were MIA, so the salesman thought someone might have stolen them when they either took it for a spin, or just didn't leave them in the car when they turned it in (it was a lease). And the "biggest" problem was that the front grill was cracked in two places, and the bumper had a dent in it right below the grill; kinda like someone must have backed into it lightly or something. The guy thought it must have happened on the lot because they wouldn't put it out for sale like that.

Dealers don't really budge much on pricing like they used to for some reason. At least that's the impression we got both times we went there, and tried to make a deal; the first time on Friday, and Sunday.

Luckily the Mrs car has been working "OK" lately, so we were able to take it Sunday so they could see it and give us a number for the trade. We don't really want to sell it to a person based on what's been happening to/with it, so we feel "better" trading it in if we can.

So... after some trying to negotiate, we bought it! The Mrs was happy with what they were giving us for the trade, and what the final number was. Got them to fix the shade, give us two new wireless headsets, and replace the cracked grill. We were actually supposed to pick it up today, but got a call yesterday afternoon saying no go, only Saturday morning. Reason is, when they were replacing the grill they noticed the bumper had a small crack on it, where it looked like it got hit, so they are replacing that as well on their dime. So getting that new as well, which we weren't expecting, so it's a win win!
