    Hello all!

After watching several threads discussing members attempting to get the new ECU calibration and having issues, I wanted to clarify a few things.

    1. T-SB reference numbers are NOT calibration ID numbers. T-SBs are created as direction to resolve specific customer issues.
    2. When a new ECU software calibration is published by Toyota, it replaces any previous software version. This means ANY complaint/issue referenced by a T-SB that uses a new ECU calibration to resolve will receive the most recent software version. An older calibration cannot be flashed to an ECU.

    What does this mean?
If you walk into the dealership today and received service for any T-SB that is resolved with a new ECU calibration, your controller will be updated with the most recent software calibration for your specific ECU.
In other words, T-SB 77-16, 58-18 and 62-18 will all receive the exact same version of the software to resolve the customer issue. You cannot receive any thing other than the most recent calibration ID#.

Now stop stressing about how to tell your dealership that you visit high-altitude areas just to have 62-18 performed.

Doesn’t really work that way all the time. Some dealership will only perform updates if they can replicate the symptom of what the tsb is asking for. Btw it also helps to have good relationship with your service advisor.

Many people are having issues with this due to the fact they believe T-SB 0062-18 is the only way to get the new calibration when, in fact, it is not. It seems the most frustration stems from individuals attempting to attain the new calibration by claiming the issues associated with higher elevation and not living in that type of area.

To have your vehicle updated, simply express the symptoms that are the easiest to explain with out having to lie to the service department. I personally do not live near high elevation. The poor shifting exhibited by these truck is a common and well documented issue. Due to this, I spoke of the surging between gears and T-SB 0058-18 was performed on my truck with no hesitation from the dealer or stress on my part.

I just hate to see so many people stressing to get 62-18 when its not the only way to acquire the new calibration.
