TOTAL CHAOS - Stock Length Lower Control Arm (LCA) - Should I upgrade?

@TOTAL CHAOS,

I have a few questions about the LCA's.

1. How does the uniball hold up more damp weather/ daily driving ? For instance I live in Oregon where it rains a good amount of time throughout the year.

2. If the uniballs aren't ideal for damp weather, could I just run a Moog Ball joint?

3. If I bought these and paired them with your UCA's what shocks do you recommend?

1. We use a 100% Stainless Steel Uniball which is optimal for corrosion resistance. Keeping them clean and properly lubricated is key to a long lasting product.

2. These only work with our 100% Stainless Steel Uniball.

3. KING or FOX are what most customers are running, but we do have other customers using Radflo and other options. We use KING or FOX for most of our shop builds.

So i got a little shimmy in the front. Not even gonna attempt to describe except it sorta reminds me of going from stock shackle hangers to archive hammer hangers. Like there is a weak link between springs and truck. I guess this would be below springs but the video got me thinking and made sense that this might be loose/ chattery feeling

 

any group buys going on for this might be interested.

 

For anyone thinking about upgrading just do it! No regrets at all with total chaos. Have put it through hell and took it like a champ. I have the 3.5 kit

I didnt realize you had to run 1.25" wheel spacers with these. What is the clearance issue that makes this required?

 

Wheel spacers are required on the Dual Shock Race Series Lowers. This is due to the secondary shock mounting tab. Wheel spacers are also required on the Standard Lowers ONLY if you're running the secondary shock. They are NOT required on a single shock setup.

Single Shock Race Series Lowers do not require wheel spacers. My apologies about any confusion

That makes sense. Good to know for sure, I was considering these, but I would definitely have gone with dual shocks(and I don't want spacers), so ill probably just do a 3.5 kit instead whenever I finally pull the trigger

 

I run the SCS f5 wheels with 3.5 back spacing and -25mm offset. would this still require i run a spacer to clear the secondary shock tab on the race series dual shock lowers? thank you in advance.

We haven't personally ran that wheel on our vehicles. There are many variables with aftermarket wheels (width, offset, backspacing). If the inside lip of the wheel is pushed out 1.25" from factory then you'll be fine.

Makes since but just curious when you say 1.25 spacers: are you referring that to the factory 5.25 backspacing wheels? For a total of 4” bs. Or are you referring to a a more common bs like 4.5” and then adding the 1.25” spacer to that. For something more like a 3.25” bs

 

We are referring to OEM wheels or Aftermarket wheels with factory specs. Thanks for checking
