Is it possible to put a gs350 resonator/intake pipe on the 3rd gen?

Looks like there is an intake sound generator that is responsible for the noise. The sound creator is the most expensive part of the assembly!

my truck sounds like that with the trd cai. really anything that deletes the existing resonators for a smaller one or deletes them entirely you will get more intake noise.

 

The GS350 has a sound generator which acts like a trumpet/horn. The horn is directed to towards the cab. I bought a used GS350 intake assembly for 100 dollars. I didn't realize this but the GS350 and the Tacoma have different intake manifolds even though they are both rear-wheel drive and use the same engine. I don't know if the throttle body assemblies are compatible. Oh well.

I would like a bit more induction noise also. I don't see the reason to go for a drum kit when this is available:

It looks like it will flow a lot better and get rid of the stock resonator box which will give more induction noise.

 

Yep, looks like a sound tube that like connects at the firewall somewhere to pipe in that sound. S550 GT Mustangs have this too. Most of them remove it.

 

I finally got the intake tube. Looks like the tube is one-inch too long. Otherwise it would have fit. I will re-assess on the weekend.
