You should get the glare guard sheild on that light bar, having the hood lit up like summer afternoon constricts your pupils due to the intense foreground light and kills distance vision. When you turn the light bar off you will find you can actually see less than before you turned it on because your pupils are over-constricted for the darkness. Ideally you want no light reflecting off the hood.

Rob really should just get rid of the hood...that scoop on the hood is clearly a problem that I can now take off of his hands. :D

Here is the view I see (I'm short). Those others I just held the camera closer to the dash. But yea, you can see the glow on the A pillar. I will have to look up the glare shield and see how that attaches. It's a process. Thanks!

Plus I would hope the only time I would need these light bars is if I was wheeling at night somewhere alone or at least on point. No way could I be on a trail following someone. However, If I was wheeling at night I would probably be sitting forward in the seat. I will check it out!

I dont seem to notice that with my Hikari's, but my Fiances Rav4 has the Lasfit and those B*tches are loud as hell.

Easy fix though man. Get the Xenon Depots Pro lol

I could definitely hear them outside of the truck. Not with the engine running but definitely without.

I'm looking to do my rear tail/brake lights with LEDs. Have we all decided on a good bulb/resistor to put back there?

@ the post talking about the humming noise. I think its pretty common/normal to hear the Hikaris with the engine off. When I park at night, I just click my lights to off then back to auto so they aren't running for the 30 seconds after the motor is switched off.

I'm pretty sure @Parker315 or @ToyoDrew did something back there that worked. I always get it confused with the "Tail as Brake Light" mod thread.

I am still using Diode Dynamics LED bulbs for both my brake lights and my rear turn signal lights (both part of the rear tail light).
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/tail-light-leds-for-2016-2018-toyota-tacoma-pair.html

They are all 7443 type bulbs, so I bought 2 pair of their HP11 bulb. The HP11 is their middle option that is definitely brighter than stock (and crisper too since it's LED vs halogen). I would really like to get the extra bright XP80's, but they are a lot more expensive. Instead, I'm super happy with the HP11's since they are very high quality bulbs just like the XP80s (metal body, excellent sealing of the circuits, etc), minus the extra power.

Make sure you get the red LEDs since white LEDs behind the red lens make it look more pink than red.

Lastly, you WILL need a resistor for the pair that are sitting in the blinker position. There are cheaper options out there, but I wanted something that'll last. Also, some don't need resistors, but if you are going to also put LEDs in the front blinkers, chances are you will need resistors after you put in LEDs at all 4 corners.

As for the Hikari fans, I can only hear them when the engine is off (with the hood closed). I can't hear them when the engine is running unless I am outside the truck or the hood is open.

Damn, that gets pricey real quick..specially if you want to get the brightest option..which you know I would. I already have some LED front blinkers that I got off Amazon and have been working great for the past 7 months so for sure I would need to get some resistors for the rear blinker LEDs.

I'll have to look around some more and decide if I wanno go Amazon bulbs or DD.

    Thanks for the info.

I only replaced my front turn signal bulbs with LED and my taillights I replaced altogether with the WinJet taillights. The WinJets look awesome and so far work well. They have a lot of QC issues though and I wouldn't be surprised at all if you got a bad pair or a pair with issues. If anyone buys these I would recommend getting them from Tacoma beat as their CS is on point. They also have some new version of Tail light other than the WinJet that aren't bad looking.

Front signals I did need resistors though with the new taillights and maybe even just in general. I had some intermittent issues when resistors weren't installed with HyperFlash.

I ended up getting some DD rear turn signals (XP11s) and resistors for them. Hopefully they get here soon!
I'm gonna slowly move everything to LEDs in the rear. I mainly wanted the clean on/off that LEDs provide for the signals..but now I can't just leave the rest of my lights non LED!
