I am planning on hard wiring in a Garmin 5" screen. I am going to use a RAM mount, on my grab handle. I found a 1" ball conversion from RAM to the GPS mount (slightly smaller).

I dont think I need to get one of those off road dedicated GPS units, even though they are nice. This will be for trips, and when I dont want to use data on my phone.

Ordered the supporting parts for now. Then when I get back from my beach trip, I will decide on an actual unit.

I still use my old garmin 4 inch suction cup mount. I have so many waypoints in it from over the years I would be lost without it. I hard wired it so it doesn't take up a cigar plug.

This is what I am planning! Except I dont have an old one anymore.

This piece converts the ball on the back of the GPS to a RAM mount. All of my mounts on my Tech Deck are filled, so it will be going to the grab handle.

I had a hardwired one in my last truck. It was nice! It came in handy having it constantly running so I could see how streets are laid out and if certain ones connected, etc. you’ll like it.

@fatfurious2 @inesshell how do you guys like that snorkel precleaner? My truck is idling rough and threw p0302 code #2 cylinder misfire. First thing I did was pull the air filter and it was caked in dead bugs. I'm going to clean the MAF sensor and pull that #2 plug later hopefully it is nothing major.

mine is running good, ive only cleaned it once since ownership and it was clean, it keeps the big debris out as compared to the regular snorkel intake. It has a small whine at low speed when the fan spools.

I like it. I also like to check my air filter every 3 oil changes. Its a $22 insurance to just replace it.
