Hold my BEER and WATCH THIS
When I was there, they listened and fixed the issues I had. Let me know how it turns out with them.

Will do. I should have time in the next week or so. I start back at school on Monday at Shenandoah University. I am using my GI bill to finish up my bachelors so I just moved to Winchester to be closer. Malloy is only 5 minutes away. Warrenton is an hour. Not wasting my time with them anymore.

Damn, 22 mpg would be awesome. I get 15-17 depending on how much highway. I just ordered a cable. Can't wait anymore lol.

I'm dropping off mine today for it's second rear diff leak and already prompted them about the TSB...you are lucky in that you can switch dealerships, I only have the one and the closest other one is 500miles away and owned by the same company.

Dang man sorry to hear that. Hopefully they can get both done. I think I will talk to them but you know nothing is guaranteed. That’s for sure.

Expecting this is why I just did it myself instead of pushing it further. 15 minutes to do the update is better than wasting more time.

Thank being said, at least there is a community here that will help out when possible to get these things done if we can't rely on Toyota to do it.

I got a call from my rep and said my service is complete. He mentioned they looked over the TSB and I have the most recent software and that the TSB was for automatics only. They mentioned that they felt the surge and that if i turn the Air Conditioner off then it goes away.... Ok. On to the next thing they were working on. The rear diff has the famous fluid weeping on the pumpkin. He said that is considered normal and not an issue, but they will monitor it for leaks. On the positive side they are ordering the insulation pucks for my squeaky leaf springs. lol.

I will know what software I have when I go over there in a few minutes.

I can promise you it’s not normal for the weeping. Toyota corporate is involved in my 2nd bout with this and they are replacing the gasket and bolts once again.

Some dude earlier on a different thread FWIW said that his has been replaced 4 times now and is still doing it.

Oh, I know for sure that it is not normal. I am going to monitor it with pictures and I have another appointment to get my leafs done so I will have them look at it again. None of my other Toyota vehicles or Jeeps for that matter ever had an issue with the diffs weeping oil.

Yeah I have kept pics for sure. If it happens again, they are definitely gonna have a problem. I will keep calling corporate until some kind of resolution gets reached. I’m generally a nice guy, but that’s my hard earned money that is paying for my truck and I will not take it lying down.

Had to take mine back to dealer 100 miles before warranty expired for them to Fix it AGAIN, and was told the same thing. At least its documented during warranty coverage, so if "weeping" gets worse, I'm taking it back for them to fix it.

Yep, didn't feel like arguing with Service Dept anymore either, and wasting yet another full day waiting there. Especially for something that took 10-15 minutes to do.

If you can make it up to Scottsdale during a weekday, I can help with the update in my works parking lot. Takes about 15 minutes (done it twice now).

We need to get a Tactrix Exchange thread going. A list of people with a Tactrix Cables and what state they live in. I'm seriously thinking of investing $170 in a Tactrix cable if I get turned down by my dealership. Just holding out a little longer for a TSB.

What times are you free? I live by falcon field, but work power and 60. Weekends are a no go?

After I pick mine up tomorrow I will be checking it very very frequently. At the first sign of weeping I’m calling corporate. They can’t just expect us to put up with this. These trucks are between 1-3 years old. Mine is a 2017. It’s craziness.

Weekends are harder for me, but I can try to arrange something. I live out in Surprise, so it would be a longer trip / arrange to meet someplace. Occasionally I make a trip down to Tucson on a weekend day and I would be willing to stop by someplace on my way if that timing works as well.

Agreed. A couple years ago I installed a backup camera in my wife's VW, and needed their software to enable it in the head unit. I found a vw forum that had a list and map of all the members that had home copies of the software and were willing to help folks out. It was super handy, would be cool to have the same thing here.

I live 3 hrs away from one dealer and 9 hrs away from another. I decided to finally purchase the cable instead of wasting gas and time. Time is money and figured I can justify the price in the cable. Should be here Saturday for the update.
