Well, I finally did it. I went in on Saturday and bought me a Magnetic Grey, '09 Access Cab, 4x2, 4 cylinder. Pretty base model, but its my first brand spank'n new vehicle, so I'm excited. The only problem is that the one they thought they had in the BC interior had already been sold, so who knows how long it will be before one comes in. Salesman said they don't receive a large amount of the base models since they don't sell as many, I'm wondering if I should keep hounding him until they find one.

Thanks Guys. I'm pretty sure I've already lost the damage deposit on my apartment due to the hole I've now worn into the carpet from all the pacing:D

Congrats! And very nice color. I saw that color a few months ago when looking for my 08. I was so close to buying it because of the color but stuck with the 08 Silver instead.

Arg, the salesman just emailed me. It's going to be another month before the grey one comes in. I could have a silver one next week, but I've waited years for a new truck, so another month won't hurt. Who knows, maybe the grey one one will come in sooner than expected.

I am in a similar situation I wanted a 4x4 crew cab in a stick and the dark gray. There isn’t one like it in 5 states. So I am playing the waiting game. Like you said you have waited this long and you know what you want so wait for it. You are about to drop a lot of cash for a brand new truck get what you want and nothing else. Don’t let them try to add a bunch of over priced service plans and stuff, just get what you want. They said my truck wouldn’t be here for 6-8 weeks but I got a call from the manager the other day who said it would be here in a little over 3 weeks so maybe yours will be here sooner. As far as calling every day, I wouldn’t. I hope that the sales person is going to give you a good deal. Don’t eat up their time telling you that the truck is still going to be here in 4 weeks. I would say a check up in two weeks would be good and they should call you when they know something. My sales person said she would get a three day or so heads up before my truck got in. Congrats and enjoy I know I cant wait.

    Congrats on the purchase,
I did exactly the same thing about a day later it sounds like. Just got back to town from a long summer and decided I needed a new toy for around Van. Magnetic grey, 4x2, 4 cylinder, access cab, SR5

I'm on the waiting list too now. My dealer tells me they have the truck sitting in California, just waiting for it to get here (next week hopefully).

Congrats on the new purchase. I Didn't know they would bring them from a US dealer. They searched throughout BC and Alberta for mine. In the end, I have to wait for the one that's coming in with their next shipment in October. Which dealer did you buy from?

Westminster Toyota is the closest dealer to me. Which dealer did you go through? It's actually coming straight from the factory as they couldn't find one locally (they even searched back east as far as Toronto). Both of ours will probably come up on the same shipment.

I was told it's all ready to go, just waiting for shipping (Probably waiting for enough others to ship all at once). They said first/second week of October but no specific date...I can hardly wait.

Ah, from the factory, that makes more sense. I didn't realize they were made in Cali (salesman thought Texas, but he wasn't sure off hand). I picked mine up at Jim Pattison Toyota on the North Shore. I'm hoping it's the same shipment. They told me it would be towards the end of October, but he could have exagerating to get me to take the silver one they had in stock.

Congrats. I love that color. The time will pass quickly if you sit and figure out what mods you want to do to your new toy.

I had to wait on mine last year - they said a month, and I got a call saying it would be in a couple weeks early.

Congratulations, That's exciting to hear. I emailed my salesman on Monday, he said it's still scheduled for the last week of October.:pout: I've only seen one Magnetic Grey Tacoma driving around Vancouver so far, so you're gonna stand out.

haha, i'm kinda in a similar situation but I kind of already have the truck it's just at my parent's house in Indiana... I found a good deal on a 08 Rugged Trail Edition while on vacation so I went a head and got it. I was going to drive it back but I also found a good deal on shipping through a guy my dad knows so I'm getting the trucked shipped for like $500 (which is less than the gas if i drove it) plus i get to keep about 2k miles off of the truck. I've put about 250 miles on it before i had to come back but now i'm waiting for the shipping company to get back to me and it could be a couple weeks before i even get a date! ugh, I'm dying!

also this is my first brand new vehicle as well [IMG]
