Yeah, I was at Hickam for the past 4 years and it looks like we left just in time!

I've been dying with these car rentals over the past 2 weeks. Hopefully it will be here workin the next 2 weeks

I'm interested in knowing how you made the rear shock extensions. Can you take a picture of the finished product? Most of us that have added a rear lift w AAL with overload spring left on have increased our rear lift by 2 inches. We have standard length rear shocks that will top out with big articulation. I and many others would like to fix this problem. Please explain and show what you did. Thanks.

I took a 6 inch threaded rod and a female to female end adapter from Lowe's and added it to the top of the shock. Replaced all the original bushing back on top and cut off the extra length of threaded rod. I couldn't find 10mmx1.25 threads so I used a tap and die to make new threads on the shock. Costed me 4 dollars. I know a lot of people are going to hate on this and say it's gonna break but I think it is plenty strong enough, the shock doesn't have a lot of force and it's only moving up and down the bolt is just holding it in place. If it doesn't hold well then, I tried anyway and then I'll buy longer shocks. If it holds then I have a 4 dollar fix. I took it out and flexed it as few times and it seemed to do just fine. You can also buy a shock extender for about $35 online and it is the same thing maybe stronger metal not sure. Be sure to get 10mmx1.25.

All good, as long as it was worth it to you.

I just remember when I had my Z06’s wheels power coated for $250.

    Guess, inflation...

Thanks for the detail explanation. It seems it may be too much of a lift. Do you worry that the shock will bottom out on compression? Does anybody made an extension of 2 inches for the bottom mount?

That’s a much better shot. My forklift shot was dark and blurry. Kinda like a night in Vegas :spy:
