I forget the guys name but within the last couple weeks we found out there is a guy in this thread that has a rock yard or something. Hopefully he will chime in. Or someone with a better memory will mention who it was.

Anybody have a spare rotor laying around? All I need is 2 measurements:
    • (A) Thickness of the mounting surface (probably easiest to just measure thru the hub hole)
    • (B) Height from the inside of the mounting surface to the outside edge of the rotor
It looks like it's possible to make a T4R splash shield fit the Wilwood BBK, the only question is how close the rotor will be to the shield because of changed mounting offsets.

I might be interested in this as well. I recently purchased a home which has part rock/grass. Definitely want to get rid of the grass in the backyard, possibly the front yard as well.
I don't know what kind of rock I currently have, how do you figure how much you'd need? Is it just figuring square footage or does depth play a factor?
Rock is purchased by the ton correct?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks.

No problem! I am working now so it's what I do.

You are correct. Rock is sold by the ton.

Most rock is going to cover about 100 square feet per ton at about 2-2.5" in depth. This is the standard application depth we go by. Some rock is a little heavier and will cover a little less, some will cover a bit more, but this is a good average to go by.

Best way to figure out what you need is to get your square footage for the area you wish to cover and divide by 100.

If you want to match what you have we can definitely try to do that. You can bring in a sample and we can try to match it up. It is important to know that depending on the age of your rock, if you try to match it, you might not find an exact match. The reason is because the rock is all natural product. None of it is dyed or colored or painted (yes, we have had people ask), so if you have rock that was purchased 10 years ago and it is a popular rock, this batch might be dug from the same area, but they might be 150 yards deeper than they were when you bought yours. We see this happen all the time. It can change in an instant because there really is no way to know what kind of veins might change. Even the rocks that have been the most popular for maintaining consistency look much different than they did a couple years ago.

    I hope that helps.

How clean are you looking for?
"Clean fill" isnt necessarily "clean" there can be rocks/boulders in there.
Screened topsoil, which is just screened dirt is the cleanest.

I have all of the dirts. I have tons...literally

    good info on topsoil.

by looking at this pic do you know what type of rock this is. I need some to put around pool equipment to minimize erosion and by my utilities where they trenched.

It looks like Apache Brown out of Superior. They make 2 sizes 5/8" and 7/8" I am not sure which this is. I can't guarantee from looking a photo, but I am fairly certain. Th size is a tough one for me without a reference. You can jump on my website if you want. bedrockglendale.com and see if you think I am correct.
