Clock and head unit doesnt work.

The little clock by the steering wheel does not come on whenever I turn on my truck and my head unit just doesnt turn on at all. Anyone know what the problem is? I know the head unit may be a blown fuse, but Idk whats the deal with the clock.

 

check your fuses...

i recently shorted my ignition wire and blew the 40 am1 fuse...

the clock and radio didnt work, but a lot of other stuff didnt work also, but I'd say check the 40 am1 fuse that is a great starting point...

from their check all the other fuses...

 

The fuse would be the first place I would check.

Side note: Little know fact. My '98 is an ext cab with the TRD package. Power windows and power door locks.... yet it didn't come with a clock. Which I'm fine with now because that spot makes the perfect location to mount a CB mic

 

Clock and radio are on the same circuit. If I remember correctly, so are the power outlets(12v). Under left dash coin holder.

 

There are two fuses used by both the clock and radio on a 2002 Taco:

- 15A DOME
- 15A ACC (Accessory)

 

Sorry about the sidetrack but.... Your taco has a clock?! I got screwed.

But anyways I got it guys, it was the 15 ACC.

just call FLAVOR-FLAV- I'm sure that he has an extra clock that has hung around his neck

 

Something causes fuses to blow. Short or overloading, unless there's corrosion in your fusebox, that's it. Fuses don't go bad. Make sure you find out the cause, or you'll continue to blow fuses. Don't put a bigger fuse in, unless you like smoke.
