I may have tweaked a few things...
Before I replaced the shocks/coils I decided I wasn’t going to lift or invest in anything more than stock parts. Worked out for the best for now because the truck has become my daily and I don’t see spending time even out on forest roads with this setup. I would love to have a 1st gen Tacoma or a 4Runner that I could build as a 4x4 though!

For now this truck suits my needs perfectly and I love how it looks with this setup, just thinking it would be worth trying the Sport shocks to see if I prefer the road handling better.

The other thing I might need to do is go test drive some similar 2nd gens to get a feel for how others handle. So I know what is even possible.

That will do it. I would brush some paint (I used a Q-tip) to the drilled holes just to be safe.

Edit: If your bed is out, you may want to loosen your shell to make it easier to pull together.

    Thanks furball sweet cheeks.

Edit: The old shell is coming off for sale Saturday, picking up my new one as soon as I can schedule it after that.

Plan to start painting them tomorrow to get a few coats on, install Sunday I'm thinking.

I believe addco, hellwig, sos performance, whoever else have offerings for a rear sway bar. Other than that, bushings, and whatever else you can change out, go for it.

Shit I think you nailed it with that! I didn’t even think of that as an option, but I will definitely have to try one

I was looking at cab mounts at one point that would be a nice project. Also I need to look closer at how the bed mounts because my bed currently side 1/2” lower on passenger, uneven with the cab.

It did occur to me that something could be loose or allowing for the extra movement but I couldn’t feel it trying to move things by hand. I’ll climb under this weekend and see if I can figure out why the bed is off. Thanks!

You shouldn't have to cut your bed mat. Who's supports do you have?

Speaking of bed supports, does anyone know the thread of the 2nd hole that fastens the bed support to the bed? It's slightly smaller than the main bed bolts.

The brackets are ATHfab ones. It's not just a bed mat, its the full bed carpet from Bedrug.

@IronPeak i found an old thread where you discussed having an uneven bed and fixing it with shims between the bed and frame. That was from a year or two ago, how has that fix held up for you? Any changes since then?

In that same thread someone suggesting checking the condition of the shackle mounts. I’ll do a little more research here as i’m rather clueless about this area.

@foxrcing07 I’m assuming my first step should be measuring the frame to ensure it is still straight? Assuming the frame is good I should then look at adding shims to level the bed. Probably going to have to pull the shell off lol. Sound about right?

What are you using it for? Sounds like 7/16x20 is pretty damn close.

I would check to make sure your bushing are intact
is the truck clean title, any reported accidents?
