Quick question to make sure I'm not being dumb before I order parts. If I have a clutch master cylinder out of the car, plug both ports with my fingers and can still push the rod in, it's bad right? Seal inside or something is leaking? Because with the plugged it should budge right?

Then it must be one of those In 'n Out Burger secret menu type options because the 2004 brochures don't make any mention of the exhaust option, but granted this also doesn't mention the supercharger, either which I think was aftermarket, not generally factory installed unless special ordered, but I'm sure there's someone out there with a 'factory' SC to prove me wrong...

That's hard to know though. It's not like you can go in and ask them if they're strict assholes.

The place right around the corner from my house failed me for the K&N sticker thing, but also more recently passed me with an emissions test not ready. Same shop, same guy.

Juice it with a penetrant, and heat the part it's going into. It WILL come off.

I disagree. Heating the TRE is only going to make it stick worse- you're expanding the inner item. You need to expand the hole that it's going into - the knuckle arm. Don't need oxyfuel, either. Propane or MAPP will work fine.

So you know, I had to use this method plenty of times on my son's 97 XJ which the DSPO did nothing to-= no maintenance, nothing. Every fastener fought us. This was how we beat it.

It took every bit of 40 hours working in a well-equipped shop to install the lift- and I've done 6 XJs before.

Who the hell said a thing about rust? You have a tight metal to metal to bond. It's basically galvanically welded, whether you think you have rust or not.

How you feel doesn't matter. I am trying to tel lyou how to solve your problem. This is the way I've fixed these issues with 30 years of wrenching under my belt.

True, but I think you can weed out some places. If you stick with a more mainstream shop, they might fail ya cause it looks different. I'm just gonna take it to my local 4x4 shop that is used to seeing that shit. They won't trip out over a chopped pipe. If you don't have that option go to a place in the ghetto, they will pass you haha.

Well duh, if you heat the wrong part that will make it worse. I don't think I actually specified which part to heat, however.

The link I posted earlier for a torch was literally propane. But I do prefer the smell of mapp gas lol

You can't do that for a smog check, you have to take it to a check only shop for your license tags

That was the other side. You got lucky.

Quit arguing about why my method won't work, and go fix your junk. ;P

Lots of shops offer smog test services. My reg always tells me I have to go to a "test only" station. Maybe that varies by county, but the idea is that you don't want to take it to a shop that tells you you failed smog but oh by the way we offer services to fix that for you.
