Was just wondering if anyone had seen any interior toolbox or storage solutions for an extended cab. Obviously it would be easy to mount one in the bed, but I don't know how I feel about having gravel and crap dumped all over it all the time, etc.

also, what about a leather wrapped steering wheel? Is a wheel skins the only semi-nice looking option, or is there some "stock" offering (from a different model Toyota, etc.)

    TIA

An upgraded 'leather-wrapped' steering wheel was available on S-Runners and Tacos with the Limited Package during the 2001 - 2004 era.

I doubt you would locate much using that as a search string. The steering wheel wasn't a 'limited' model in and of itself. It was a variant trim installed on S-Runners and trucks with the Limited Package.

These upgraded wheels don't feel all that 'leathery' or 'plush' to me, so I can't say they're a major step 'up'. If you want a cushy leathery feel to your steering wheel I'd recommend adding a good-quality add-on / lace-on kit. If nothing else, that would be the cheapest route to take as a first experiment ....

I went to a custom interior shop to get a high quality real leather steering wheelcover installed. Cover + install = $125. Yes, expensive as hell, but worth every penny. It is about 6 mos old and finally getting a perfect feel

Thanks for your suggestions, EnolaGaia. The Wheel Skins don't look half bad, so maybe I'll give that a try. I just can't stand plastic steering wheels. I have been spoiled by leather in my previous 3 vehicles...

exminnesotaboy, what is the name of that little camper trailer in your sig? I have always loved those things.

thebigk, maybe I'll have something to show you soon ;)

Anyone have any ideas on this toolbox? I'm guessing nothing like that is really made... hmmm, business idea? hah...
