What 800 pound gorilla do you all use for oil filter installs?? The only time I have to use a wrench is for the first change on a vehicle I purchase. Rub some of the used oil on the new filter, spin on until it just barely starts to contact, then go 3/4 turn more at most. I've had both the 2.7L & 4L over the last 12 years.

I hand-tighten my filter as much as I can exert without tools. It'll be a lot worse if the filter loosens and oil leaks out. K&N filters with the welded nut on top even has holes for lockwire, which is racing/aviation practice.

Not a big deal to most but for me this is a miracle. Washed, clay bar, compound, waxed.

Had a productive day today in preparation for going wheeling tomorrow.

    • Wired in ABS kill switch
    • Checked torque on all suspension related bolts and wheels and bumpers
    • Charged impact battery and ham radio
    • Checked all vital fluids
    • Removed spare tire carrier
    • Put hose clamps on my rear shock boots

The spare tire thingy can be removed?? I need to do this! When I was offroading last weekend my truck sounded like it had a damn bell collar you would put on a cat or something.

It’s 4 12mm bolts. It was a pain in the ass but definitely possible. Took me about 15 min.

I just gotta get my safety goggles. Glasses don’t cut it. When ever I am under the truck there seems to be an unlimited supply of dirt falling into my eyes.

Hopefully an impact can reach the bolts, should make quick work of them.

Nope, they can’t. Only thing you can get in there is a box wrench. You’ll need a ratcheting one or you’ll be there for hours. And tiny hands.

Yep, that's a great tool- I used it before I converted to the cartridge filter

I’m not liking the touchy throttle. I don’t know if it’s the stability control or what. Other than that love the second gen. Drives nothing like my 1st though.
