The argument isn't that abortion stops a beating heart. The argument is that abortion kills an innocent life. Big difference.

Yeah, we could split hairs all day. Would you call it a baby at 6, 15 or 24 weeks? How about if the baby could survive on it's own? When do you think that would be?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/wor...baby-thrown-trash-ALIVE-botched-abortion.html

Some medical professionals have deemed abortions "late-term" as early as 12 weeks and as late as 27 weeks... Seems that they can't even agree on when a "fetus" is a "baby".

    It's not common-sense, though.

Very, very often people do not understand the ramifications of unprotected sex. They think they're too young to get pregnant, or they're influenced by a desire to be with that other person, and feel that by being "responsible," they are ruining a future with that person. There are many other scenarios.

This is where the role of sexual education in our homes and schools come into play. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people in this country and world who do not receive adequate education on the topics, and are ignorant as to the consequences of their actions.

So when you pair horny people with ignorance, you get unwanted pregnancies. Common-sense isn't a factor because common-sense implies a level of aptitude at recognizing a situation.

Saying sorry in advance. I just used this as a jump off to post this.

Wouldn't playing with yourself be considered abortion??
A vasectomy or a hysterectomy could also be considered abortion depending on the exact moment one might consider life conceived.
Seems funny though, pro-lifers don't want to look at that. There goal is to stop others from making choices.

Hell, using a condom is killing those little sperms/eggs by not continuing to implant those cell actually kills way more life than an abortion for that matter.

    And you deserve to!

But a lot of people don't. And asking them to live up to your standards is like asking a gorilla to lay eggs.

Maybe not hight standards, but you are asking much from the society in which we live. Unfortunately that's just the way it is.

Ha! My roommate and good friend says he's going to run for President someday under the "Application for Procreation" proposal. Needless to say he offends a lot of people...

    Edit: Sorry for the thread-jack!

I don't think that's it at all and that argument was never made. I know plenty of pro-choice people who are very nice people, are charitable in helping others, are anti-death penalty, and would lay down their lives for others. They just don't see a fetus as a human being. We certainly won't change minds by denigrating.
