I have the Ray10s in 17" and I rub on the CMC but only because mine was not done like it should have been done the first time around. So it needs to be redone and cut off, cut back more, and have a smooth flat plate welded on.

okay word. good to know. I am going to see if I can add more preload giving a little clearance possibly. and see if the alignment can have some caster added... im pretty sure its caster is where it should be... close to 4*

Yea, I just don't see how if you already had a CMC done how you are rubbing that much still. I only rub when in reverse really or maybe when wheeling, never going forward.

I noticed it in my driveway which is about 10" higher in by the garage door than the street. truck was nose in towards the garage door. Wheel is turned 50% and the edge of the shoulder of the tire is in contact with the cmc. Not by much. Ill get a pic here in a sec. Need to run to parts store real quick to grab some diff oil. gonna change that stuff out today too.

Weird. I would have to check mine and see if mine contact any but I don't notice any rubbing except in reverse usually at full lock. Still going to redo the CMC soon though to eliminate the rubbing anyways.

Xfer case oil has been changed! So far the oils have been as expected I think.

Rear diff had a small amount of metal shavings, which was expected for new diffs. Oil was dark but not black and by the end of the draining, was pretty gear oil colored.

Xfer case fluid was dark but not black either. Still had the slight hue of oil. Like watered down soda almost. Perm got one on me as it splashed on me as it drained real fast from the drain hole. This may be a case of phrasing but let’s move on.

Next up, drop the skids to remove the part used to drop down for the xfer case skid. And then onto front diff.

Was this your first transfer case fluid change? How many miles? I did mine at like 35k with both difs and the transfer case and front diff still looked really good.

I’m at 40.5k and have many thousands of miles in 4wd. Maybe 10k on dirt or more.
It didn’t look too bad. It was still translucent to some degree

Still taking it easy since I needed to change the oils. It’s really nice with the 34s and armor. The truck pulls hard! I’m really happy with the way it drives. It even uses all 6 gears almost perfectly now lol

So in the process of taking the skids off, I noticed some oil drips on the trans oil pan, the engine oil pan, and on the skid... lots on the ifs skid. I wiped everything down... took it to a car wash in fact with under carriage wash. Im going to crawl back under there later and change front diff oil anyhow so Ill check it out and see if I can identify where this leak is coming from.

My other thought is that it could have just been a messy oil change from the dealer (my last free one)... :fingerscrossed: its nothing big

Hopefully its just a sloppy oil change for the dealer. If you notice more oil I would also check by the oil filter. I had a brand new seal go bad(properly lubed and installed, never had this happen in almost 20 years of doing oil changes) immediately after an oil change and lost around 1qt. Not a big deal but it was a bitch to find the leak with a quart of oil all over my skids and lower part of the engine.

I drove for sometime this evening and will check in the morning for anything new looking like drips. If there is nothing then I’ll remount the skids and be done with it lol

There is definitely a leak!! I have cleaned under the truck a bunch now and each time after a while, there is some trans fluid on the bottom of the trans oil pan. :(

Luckily I have 100k powertrain warranty so I’m gonna take advantage early next week.

Thats a bummer but great to have that warranty! My trucks got the 100k and the dealer I bought from added another 100k on top at no cost. I would never have bought it from them. I dont trust that dealerships service department so i'm not sure I could ever use the extra 100k but we'll see what happens and hopefully I wont ever need to use it.

The engine and the trans are the last things I have left on Toyota warranty. I got 5 years on the diffs from ECGs too.

I’m gonna get to the dealer Monday hopefully and have them fix it. Hopefully fix it. I believe it’s just a leaky gasket

Hope all goes smooth and its an easy quick fix. The 100k warranty on the eng/trans is the only thing(besides cost) that makes me question if I really want to add a SC or turbo. Who am I kidding though, I def want to add some FI!:spending::burnrubber::devil:
