    Howdy from Texas,

I am now a new Tacoma owner (2018 Tacoma TRD Off-Road) but I’m not new to Toyota. I was a member over on the Tundras.com forum and loved the discussions and advice over there. So it makes sense to join in on the fun over here.

Today, I traded in my Cement 2017 Tundra TRD Pro. I needed something a little more economical and to be quite honest cheaper on the monthly payment side due to my youngest daughter’s medical bills.

I had done quite a few mods on the Tundra and I was running out of things to mod on it. So I’m pretty excited to start modding a new ride. So please forgive me as I start rummaging through old posts and maybe ask some dumb questions. Thanks for having me. I will post some pics of the new ride up as soon as I pick her up from the dealership...they are giving her a bath.

    - Mike from Texas

Cool. Sorry to hear about your daughter.
I would have picked a tundra short box crew cab, but she talked me into a Off road dbl cab short box tacoma. Haha. She was not a fan of driving former '14 silverado dbl cab short box. That rear seat room in the tundra crew was amazing....
But the Tacoma has grown on me some. We do not tow anything, and it does well in the woods. Some 2 track roads get narrow with brush here and I appreciate the approach angle, break over etc...
How do you like the Tacoma vs Tundra?
    Did you have the 5.7?
Get the TSB 62-18 done to your tacoma. Way better throttle and shifting.
The stickies in tacoma world are good. Tips and tricks one is good.

I loved that Tundra very much, the build quality was the best but to be honest the truck still felt antiquated. I had the 5.7 and by today’s standards the power and the throttle response just wasn’t close to the other full-size trucks out there. The tundra lacked a lot of the interior gadgets that other car companies offer but they are fixing that issue with the 2019 TRD Pro’s.

I will definitely have to check that TSB 62-18 out! Thank you!

    Welcome.
I came from a 1st Gen Tundra to a 3rd Tacoma. Love it.

Definitely get the TSB 68. It makes a huge difference.

Get tint! That Texas sun baby! Ceramic is the way to go.

Thank you. She is great now. She needed an open heart surgery to fix a heart defect she was born with but now she’s all healed up and ready to give the world hell.
