Front License Plate

I want to take off my front license plate but there would be two holes. Has anyone done this but used something to cover up the holes? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

You can also go to your local auto parts store and pick up a package of license plate fastener covers and paint them yourself for about $5-$6 including paint:

I just put the screws back into place I guess you could paint them if you wanted. I haven't had a front plate on my other vehicles and have never had a problem in CA, knock on wood.

Texas requires a front plate as well, but taking it off is one of those things where you're looking around and saying "I've seen 4,000 people running without them, why not me too?"

I ran without one on my Mustang for 3 years, and never got stopped.

 

I know its illegal I was just wondering. I see tacomas on this forum without it and it looks great. Just wanted to find out a solution. Thanks for yalls input though

you could fill those holes with some LED bolts

 

and put in the wiper squirter LED's on your hood while your at it

Just bought mine and the holes are still filled and my tags are still good...till October 26th anyway. Here's the bottom line, if you don't have a front plate, and you do something stupid, it's one more thing you'll get fined for. Suck it up and put the front plate on! People on this forum who have pics/videos without the plate, put them back on after they take the pic. Sorry to sound harsh, but reality is a bitch. When I get my front plate, I'm gonna drill two holes and put the damn thing on!

Ya could always get those bolt covers like they have for the Lund Sun/Moonvisors. The bolt attaches a small plastic washer and then you snap the cover, (painted to match or painted to offset) over the plastic receiver washer. Comes in chrome also. Or put a big ass push bumper or grill guard on to "distract" the holes. Put a hook there and hang a "pine tree" air freshener from it. A great conversation piece!

Isn't the plate covering up the holes now?

 

I was told that since TX is not now using the little sticker on the rear tag itself and went to the stickers inside the front windshield, that legally you are now displaying the tag on the front as the tag number is on the sticker in the upper left corner. Haven't run one in years?
