I've owned 3 jeeps and enjoyed them.

My wife drives a Durango Citadel 5.7l Hemi, that shares many parts with a JGC and it's an awesome SUV.

    Jeeps suck.

New Chekhov, Anton Yelchin, was killed by his OWN Jeep because of that stupid transmission they came up with.

    Jeeps suck.

Stupid shift design (thus the recall), but it seems to me it was operator error.

Our Durango has more of a conventional shifter and we've had no issues.

    YMMV

    Have any of you owned a CJ? 5, 6, 7, 8 whatever it takes? (go find 6's & 8's)

The POS produced by Jeep since 2007 or so is crap, no doubt - just be cognizant of the products built before you were in born and know that "once upon a time Jeep made some really good stuff".

Also - just about any vehicle made after 2007 also happens to be suspect about it's POS-ness. My 2006 Taco included, borderline POS range.

I love Jeeps but don't call these abominations of H3 mated with Land Rover Jeeps - They are more like Jeebus = Jeeps mated with busses to be obnoxious in size, useless on trail and so overly present in the mall.

One CJ5 and two TJs here, and they were some of my favorite vehicles. Miss em all. Never had any problems outside of the mods I did, but all that wrenching was great learning experience, especially considering most of the mods were experimental, I.e, not YouTube-coached, and they were so easy to work on - big tinker toys I used to say.

Operator error. I had the same shift design in my Chrysler 300 and I never once put it into a gear I didn't want... Enough idiots make the same mistake and they think it is the manufacturers fault.

Actually ‘70-‘86 were the best years of Jeeps, especially CJ7 & CJ8’s. TJ, LJ, ZJ’s etc and the like aren’t Jeeps at all. All the people driving several year old vehicles are literally driving a Fiat. But if we want to get technical, FJ40’s blow the old school AMC Jeeps away.

They've lost potential careers in football. They've lost education opportunity due to leaving the college. God knows how many family & friends they'll never get back after almost 3 years of accusations.

She gets 1 year? Bullshit. Burn her down judge.
