Are you able to rent tools there like we are here? ALSO that link I just posted is the first one in 72 pages?! It's the only things in products discussed at the bottom.

I've never tried to find a place where they rent tools. I rather buy them and fill up my tool box with tools I may need some day lol. Borrowed the 35mm socket for the axle 3 time, the 4th I bouht it, because I guess I need it lol

And yes it seems like it is the first Amazon thing shared in my thread to appear at the bottom lol

only times you would use a puller like this is on this carrier and if you do the tripod on the cv axle to redo boots.

i didnt like how the adjustable jaw one gripped onto the yoke so i found the two fixed position one that got a better grip.

I bought the CV hub bolt socket for my 99 grand am back in the day to do some bearing replacements. Ended up being the only time I ever used it. I might have to go look for it when I go out to my dads again. Might fit something on the Taco.

Honestly your guess is as good as mine. I’ve never dealt with an engine that burns oil.

I did with olders, and never took care of it, only added oil lol but on the Taco i care a lot lol i know it is not leaking, and funny that it doesn't smell either for have took that much.

Speaking of this makes me think that in a few threads I saw people saying their 2.7 takes 5 quarts of oil and others say that it takes 6. I always put 6, but on the last one I put 5, gauge it, and it was fine. But now after it roll a bit and fill the filter and everything, maybe I was missing a quart right from the start! I'll let it like that for the week and gauge it again next week end before getting crazy on additives and oil flush lol

When yo checked the level, had you started the truck to circulate the oil and fill the filter?

Sorry to hear this. There are other options as well, I'm thinking but not positive on when a truck I had back in the day did this what I used. I think it was something like Royal Purple or something. It helped for a bit. Ultimately I ended up rebuilding that engine. It wasnt a Toyota though so hoping your result is better.

    @Justanotherhemi ?

I know I did not get tagged :anonymous: but I will put my 2 cents in. Unfortunately I do not see how Sea Foam will work. Sea Foam is intended to help burn off carbon buildup from the cylinder walls & valves to help restore lost power. In your case it sounds more like worn piston rings which are allowing the oil to get pushed from the bottom of the chamber to the top. Once mixed with the gasoline it gets burnt off and dissapears. Yoh only notice it when the oil level starts dropping or the occasional blue smoke at start up as the chambers get cleared of any oil that settled.

The only other option which would be best case scenario would be a leak. Oil pan or any other area that may be cause the oil level to go down as it leaks out.

    Good luck Louis:fingerscrossed:

    According to oil-change.info

The US and Canads model Taco with the 2.7L takes 5.8 quarts if oil per oil change. You may have under filled iy Louis

    Try replacing your
Try replacing your pcv valve first. Do you see anywhere on the engine it could be leaking from don't just check the ground for drips but look for seepages.

iirc I did, but maybe not lol

I hope too, i am still positive
Dang forgot to tag you! No offense <3

Acoording to a mechanic friend it could be a ring stuck on the piston because of not well burnt stuff and also ethanol that is now in the gasoline. Wont hurt to try the seafoam

    Thanks for your tip!
I did the pcv valve. I'll now check if it was really underfilled, but I know it will still burn some oil. I also check for leaks and seepages, nothing yet but engine is dirty lol

Before putting any type of treatment in, verify whether you are externally leaking or not. I dont like to add any type of "stop leak" to my vehicles.

And like others said, make sure you filled it correctly.

Edit: Sorry I misread seafoam. As you were.

I'm definitely no expert Louis but here is a really good article on the subject obviously written by the company that is promoting their products.

    https://barsleaks.com/oil/take-care-hidden-oil-burning-reduce-oil-consumption-cost/

If nothing else it will provide explanations of the possible types of oil leaks and resulting consumption issue. Then if after you've tried everything else, maybe you could try one of these products.

It might be worth the money to have a pro do the diagnosis if all else fails.
