Go get some spray on engine cleaner, like 5 cans or so. The kind you spray on at home and then take to a car wash. I know that's not very friendly to the environment or the local car wash but most are filtered closed loop systems. Or pressure wash it at home if you have a gravel drive it can enter the ground and filter through. They may even make a citrus type that is environmentally friendly. Also, take an old wheel brush, the round type and clean out the tip of your exhaust pipe.

With everything clean and dry you'll be able to determine if there are any external leaks around the engine or if the tail pipe gets coated up quick and its thick and wet it may be proof that its burnoff in the engine.

    :notsure:

i also don't like stop leak stuff, but after adding seafoam I'd do an oil change, 1000km after.

Of course an inspection will be needed if I can't solve the problem myself. I'd like to keep the truck as long as I can, but don't want to mess with piston and rings change
engine cleaner is in the garage already, waiting for me to have time to spray it on the engine and wash it at work lol just dont have time. If I can finally have a work van I could take care of the taco better

I am 20-25 minutes from Ottawa when there is no traffic. Stay tuned in the Ottawa thread, we would like a meet sometime in september!

You are coming back to stay?

Oh sweet! I have a friend in gatenau that I'll be staying the night at instead of doing 16-17hours solid of driving haha

I voted for 14-15 Sept for a meet but will see what others say. End Sept I'm heading out for a few months but will be back after that, so definitely keep your eyes posted for the 22nd annual snow run

This thread is more than dead.

    I have a few updates

I should be putting my hands on the Ford Transit pretty soon. Its gonna be my new DD for work. Then yesterday I winterise my fishing boat and put it outside with a tarp. Garage is now available for the truck:yes:

Things to do to the truck :

    - Passenger side brake caliper (comes with brake fluid change)
    - Driveshaft center bearing
    - all 5 U joints (one is noisy, better change them all)
    - wire lights and stuff correctly
    - give a good cleanup in the cab
    - put seafoam in the engine to see if it does something to my oil consumption problem
