Yep, we know this all to well. Our cat sitter decided it would be a good idea to buy a bag of toys for our cats when we were gone. (She is truly a godsend). Well I must have missed one with the bell in it. :annoyed: Nothing like waking up to that thing banging into the walls at 2 am.
What would we do without them?!? :p

Our old cat Albert did that- fresh kill in the middle of the night! And it wasn’t you’re normal meow- totally drawn out howl/ meow combo

yup that's totally it, lol. He's the only one of our three cats that does it, too. He's also the one that peed on everything in our new house for the first 4 months after we moved in...it was a dark time.

Luckily we never have had to deal with that. That would really test your patience. My sister has this total psycho cat that pees in the kitchen sink and had actually pissed on her while she was sleeping! I love most cats but not this little f!!ker

Our Maine Coon Breezy does the same thing to my wife, but not me. BTW, I have to have the same milk as you.

Funny, yea she does not miss a beat. We eat cereal all the time and she begs for milk. Its like she has this milk radar. We give her a lick as it is lactose free but think she was with a family with kids and they gave her milk.

Thinking they gave her up because she probably bit one of the kids or a baby. She does stay away from them when they are at the house. I fell in love with her after she was rescued from the pound. 4 days away from being put down back in 2012.

My old cat Bandit would catch the occasional mouse in the middle of the night then bring it into the bedroom, alive, at 3 am, and release it so I could participate in the chase with her. Nothing like waking up out of a sound sleep to the sound of a cat crashing and banging around the bedroom, knowing you're gonna have to get up and try to capture a mouse who is desperately trying to escape the cat.

Thankfully, when Hobbes catches a mouse, (I live in an old house in the country, mice are a given) he kills it silently then leaves it in the kitchen for me to find in the morning.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy to lose some sleep if I could have Bandit back. There'll never be another like her. RIP old girl.

They want to share! Goes to show you how much they love you.

I think I’ll take the toy with the ball in it over live mice though.

Oh yeah, I'm sure she thought I was hopelessly inept at hunting and she was trying to teach me to fend for myself.

Somehow I ended up in January and read this post. What a heart wrenching yet heart warming story.
I gotta say, sometimes I say I’m never going to get another cat but then I realize how empty my home would be.

I thought that too, but a little over a year later after my Bellatrix died we brought Lana home. It’s been good for both me and her big brother Sterling. He’s finally off his lazy ass and starting to be active like a 3-year-old cat should be now that he has a kitten to play with.

Henry had his first follow-up appointment on Friday afternoon. His vitals were fine and his weight is stable, but he has gone back to being far less energetic than before his episode. They did another chest x-ray and pulled some blood for labs. Based on the initial image he still seems to have a little fluid on his lungs, though he is breathing fine. The vet also said that his heart murmur is now super loud. I expect that once the cardiologist looks everything over we are going to have to increase his Lasix to get rid of that fluid, but that just beats on the kidneys more and requires more potassium. He's not eating as much as he should either, so I'm afraid that his weight may start to drop. He gets tired very easily, and pill time really takes a lot out of him. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm beginning to think that he's going to leave us far sooner than originally expected. The poor little guy used to be so hyper and talkative, and now he's just tired and looks depressed. He's a smart one, so I'm sure he knows something's wrong. I think his brother knows something's up too because he keeps following him around and watching him really closely. Arthur doesn't try to start any playtime like he used to...he's just keeping close.
