Not sure how much they cost, but you can buy both of those bezels online already painted in the inferno color if you don't want to paint them yourself. Or see if anyone will trade with you

Nah, he just needs a trailer at this point. I can tell he’s gonna hit some rough trails with that one. He may be gone for a couple months and will appreciate the extra space.

Hey Y'all, figured I'd post some pics of the Softopper I've been running for awhile now. It was really hard to find examples of an inferno truck with grey topper so here it is. I like the fact that the grey doesn't really show dirt and probably won't have to worry about fading in the sun since I leave it on pretty much all the time.

After six months, I've decided that I'm happy with the build quality. I do wish all of the hardware was stainless though (probably not an issue if you don't plan on keeping it on the truck all the time). It's amazingly handy for keeping the elements off cargo and hauling the dogs around - been worth every penny!TH2.jpg TH1.jpg

    Looks good!

I was thinking of doing something like this next year. Can you provide more info like manufacturer, cost, how much time to take off/put back on? My main use would be for summer vacations. Renting a house at the beach requires a lot of stuff and I'm thinking this could help store all the luggage and cargo for multiple families, and then can be removed and stored in the garage if need be once we're there.

Link and details to the manufacturer are below:

    https://www.softopper.com/

It's super fast to fold down (works sort of like putting a Jeep top down) takes less than sixty seconds to do so. Taking the whole thing off/on also takes about 60 seconds. Just a strap to tighten in each corner and then the snaps down the sides. Stays tight too - no worries about flapping in the wind or any of that nonsense. I think I paid $725 for mine which was roughly $100 off what their site quotes. If you email them and tell them you are considering a competitor (Bestop - $600) they might cut you a little bit of a deal despite their product being of much higher quality. In retrospect, I would not have chosen to add the storage bag option since the whole thing folds up neatly when you take it off anyways (and the storage bag is a hassle to wrap around it). I also had them add a cutout to the rear vinyl window that sits up against the cab so that I could still maintain functionality of the truck's sliding rear window. They call it the "doggie window" option and you have to request it when you order - it won't show up as an option. I think that added like $25 to the price and it does include a flap that can be used to keep the topper watertight.

I tend to leave the rear window off of it (with a cargo net in its place) because its easier to quickly load things in and out of the bed. The main function I use it for most is hauling my dogs around so that the cab stays clean and hair-free.

I find it way more functional than the hard bed caps since you will inevitably have to haul something tall and those are a major PITA to take on and off. The only downside I suppose is the lack of security compared to a hard top.

Thanks for the info! This sounds it would for my needs. Like you, I'd be less concerned about security and more concerned with convenience. Thanks again for the great info.

Had her 20 k service today. No issues and she still looks great. As I stood looking out at the lot from the show room, a salesman came over and we started to talk. I asked him if he saw anything as we looked out at the vehicles. He said, "a lot of cars". I said yeah, but it's just a sea of black and white and shades of gray. Only maybe 10 or so out of a couple hundred were real colors. He confirmed inferno was discontinued. Sad.

I had the same experience the first time I took a Tacoma for a test drive. They had huge windows looking out onto a large lot and a quick scan told me they had no Infernos on the lot, but plenty black/white/silver.

Your truck looks sharp. Do you have pictures of the bar from the front? How do you like the step bars? I'm looking at something similar but may need something that comes down lower. I'm assuming you tinted the front windows as well to match the rears?
