So you think I would need skid plates to do Coney Flats since it's a 6? I have a TRDOR with 285/70R17's and the BP-51 suspension but no skids other than factory, which we know are worth it. Was thinking about doing this tomorrow.

As you probably know, "difficulty" is very subjective. That being said I have seen a bone stock Nissan frontier do Coney flats. I'd like to think if you have another vehicle going, a fair bit of people would say give it a shot!

    Hope that helps

You might be ok with out skids, but I’d considers sliders a must. A2C87D71-89CD-41B2-90FE-76E4068C8455.jpg
That rock is on the msv side and was no easy way for me to get around it without hitting

I'd recommend sliders as well, though I have seen stock vehicles run both trails.

I took my stock 2015 SR5 DCSB up MSV when I first got it. Now that was dumb. Lesson learned

So is MSV - Middle St. Vrain trail? If so, I almost went up there today and have been told it’s easy to moderate. Is that the case or not? I have a bad habit of ending up in places I shouldn’t have...

Since it's fast approaching--as an adult, time flies when you're having fun or not...and it's more often "not"--I will once again throw this out for Labor Day.

    Labor Day Weekend (9/1-9/3)

    Day 1: Pearl Pass
    Day 2: Taylor Pass
    Day 3: Reno Divide/Italian Creek

We would find disbursed camping along the way (I suppose there is a strong possibility that fire restrictions will still be in place). The above order is not necessary either, just the way that I envisioned it. This is all assuming that the entire forest isn't on fire. Thoughts?

My CB will be fixed by then and I'm hoping to have my HAM license also. I've never done any of these trails before so it would be nice if someone who has is there. See below; the first two trails are rated as moderate by Trails Offroad and difficult by the FunTreks books while the last is rated moderate by FunTreks:

    https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/411-pearl-pass-co

    https://www.trailsoffroad.com/trails/477-taylor-pass-co

    https://www.trails.com/us/co/crested-butte/italian-creek-and-reno-divide

I feel it best to leave rather early as possible on Saturday given it's a holiday weekend (7 or 8, I'm thinking). Two or three weeks ago, I went west on I-70 to explore a few trails and it took me 3.5 hours to get to Frisco.

Had been looking forward to it since I went last year, but just started a new job so I can’t get the time off. Gonna just head out there Thursday after work, stay the weekend, and drive back Sunday afternoon.

Sounds like Chelsea should be ditching her Friday morning class to me. That’s what college is for right?

Yeah, saw the thread after i posted.

Wondering when people are going before/after. Looks like a cool event, and i haven't checked the thread in months but it was sounding like a lot of people and lack of camping. And I'm not looking to do any hard wheeling. I'll be out of town the next weekend, so if people were down the week before.
