I was just curious which ones you meant. There are tons of people running 4R pro wheels on the Tacoma, its a very popular choice and 95% of the time someone says Pro wheel they are talking about the 4runner ones. Have you joined in on the DFW thread? Come over and say hi!

Very Common. I opted for the 4 Runner wheels. Since they came out i have always liked the matte. They provide a perfect offset and stance for my need.

They never made the KO2 until 2014. The original KO came out around 1980, so maybe you mean those, but they are different tires.
I and many others have had issues with blowouts with KOs on heavy 1 ton off-road vehicles, but still under the weight limits of the tire, so I stopped used them, but the KO2 are 10x better IMO. But you are right, most tire issues are blown out of proportion, just look at the ford / firestone crap.

Tacoma Sport wheels are 17" I believe, but the Tacoma TRD Pro has 16". I thought the reason people went with the 4Runner TRD Pro wheels is because they are 17" like on the Sport so they look the same size wise. Also you can then do a direct tire swap and not have to buy a whole new set of rubber on top of the cost.

The Pro 16 inch has more tire options that is one reason I was looking at them

Aren’t those similar to the stock OR tires? If so, I wasn’t impressed. The carcass is pretty flimsy.

I'd argue that the 4runner pro wheel is the more frequently done pro wheel swap. I was wondering which pro wheel we were talking about too.

These are my dad's tires from 1983. They say "BFGoodrich Radial All-Terrain T/A" on the sidewall.

Ha yes sorry. That is what I meant by ATs. The original KO on the older two and the KO2s when they came out for the 07 and both since. While the tires are different, the BFG AT line has held very well for me. Long tread life, great in snow and mud, dry road and wet road alike.

Now the toyo open country at2’s that came on my ram were abosoulte shit in snow imo. After the first two storms I went straight to the tire shop for the KO2s again.

For the record the Taco Pro wheels and the 4runner Pro wheels are NOT the same spec as someone stated earlier.

    Taco Pro - 16x7 +13mm offset
T4R Pro - 17x -4 offset (will give you a bit wider stance)

Here are mine with 285 KO2’s.
I also have falken 265/75 sl rated on my OR wheels. They’re both great tires can’t go wrong with neither one they’re both quiet on the road. Falkens are def cheaper be still good quality. I also have Falkens on 4runner Pro wheels and they look awesome.
