Added the snomaster fridge finally... Gauging the spacing for storage in the bed - its definitely limited so I need to pack wisely for this trip without overpacking...
Also got my mini 5lbs propane tank today along with starting my roof top tool storage and satisfying my OCD.

On it! Met a 3rd gen that said he did a run with you the other day. He had an arb front bumper and old man emu suspension with sos sliders. Ran into him on the highway to work and he hailed me on the CB

 

Did a thing with some shoes...

Had some rubbing on the spindle without the spacers so I left the spidertrax.spacers in. Am in touch with Vin @ scs to figure out why it's rubbing the tire with 285's as he hasn't seen this before. For now it works, a bit more poke than I would want but it does the job. These tires are super noisy... However they will only be on for trail runs. I'm swapping back to my oem tires for highway driving.

 

Well finally reinforced the front bumper mounts with the help of the famous @dc welding.. Well he did the work I just watched. Awesome dude and great work! I will definitely be sending all my fab work to him.

Now to paint my sos high clearance rear bumper and wire and mount the winch into the front bumper.

@tacobell007 came over to help me install the SOS Concepts High Clearance Rear today. Here are the specs that I called out for on the rear bumper:
- High Clearance
- Tubed sides for bed protection
- Dual Swingout (Tire carrier on the right / empty on the left so I can make a custom panel for it)
- Cut outs for led's

Thankfully @tacobell007 has done this install before because I had no idea how much or where to cut. Mucho thanks for his help and supplying some of the tools. Here are some progress photos. All in all it took about 6-7 hours to install taking our sweet ass time and shooting the shit for a while.

All painted up with 3 coats of Rustoleum Self Etching Primer / 3 coats of Duplicolor Bed Coating.
I must say the new Duplicolor bed coating cans are amazing. They have a flat spray pattern than can be rotated according to what direction you want to spray and the output is 100% smoother and more controllable than the old nozzle designs.

I went through 4 cans of primer and 5 cans of bed coating on just the bumper itself. I'll be spraying the swing outs eventually but I'm not sure if I plan on installing them just yet. The swingouts will block the tail lights so I'm wiring MicTuning LED trailer lights to the rear beam of the roof rack on the cap. It'll be different but with the amount of driving in traffic I do - getting rear ended with visible tail lights is a challenge nevermind hiding them.











Now for the install - removing the rear bumper was a pain because the bolts to the frame were very... unforgiving. Luckily Drew brought over some shallow impact sockets and we were able to fit my dewault impact gun up next to the bolts and zip them out. Cleaned them off on the wire wheel and covered them in neverseize for reinstall.
Cutting was the easiest part of the job - draw the line about 1/4" below the tail light and measure from the top of the bed down and match that length with another mark closer to the front of the bedside. Connect the two marks with a straight line and cut accordingly. Drew brought a flapdisc at about 40 grit to clean up the sharp edges and then I taped off the last 1/4" and painted it with rust preventative primer.

Mounting and adjusting the bumper comfortably takes 3 people and one jack to hold it up. Toss in two of the forward most bolts a few threads deep and then hook the bumper onto those.

Here's the final photos - I'm heading out to touch up the paint now and I'll take more photos of the final job in day light.

R U coming to the Yota run this fall? Get gears yet? I haven't... sadness...

 

I was planning on it. And nope still don't have gears! Need to get some gear kits and lockers

 

I am thinking of keeping the 4.10s with my 33s and putting in a Marlin Crawler for bigger obstacles. I don't end up slipping the clutch too much until I hit larger rocks. I dunno we'll see.
