I brought my 17 or brand new and for the first 4 months it was averaging 16-17 miles per gallon. After 6 months of driving my average increased to 20-21 mpg. I have the truck for 2 years now and it still gets 20-21 mpg. On the highway it is slightly better 23-24. I also changed my to tires to BFF ko2

Keep in mind a lot of people lie about people lying about their gas mileage.

Keep in mind that a lot of people have no clue in how to calculate their gas mileage...

What I find interesting is having a thread on poor mpg and another thread on great mpg at the same time. Could we have a truck that gets both good/bad mpg at the same time? Is the cat alive and dead?

    What a paradox..

So I’m to believe TOYOTA lied to you?? lol!

No worries man, I believe you, they lied to me also. I routinely get much better mileage than the sticker, even up to 28+ mpg if I try hard nuff, and I’ve posted proof so no lies. But what a bunch of lying low lives gee!

Next time time I’ll go chevy cause I’m told they always tell the truth

    Cheers!

It’s truly a sea of fibs and exaggerations. And for what? Oh... bragging rights about a MPG gained. Yawn.

Yeah, it is entertaining though, so we have that.

I live in an area where there can be a lot of traffic. I watch cars that weave in and out of lanes, speeding up, jamming on the brakes, etc. Many times at a red light, I pull up along side the car that, driving in that manner passed me miles before.

I am pretty sure my conservative driving mpg's would be better than that driver- but like you said, "yawn"....lol

Is Shrodinger a member of Tacomaworld?

I wonder what mpg's he is getting?

    Does he drive a Sport?

I wonder how he feels about rear drum brakes....probably doesn't care as long as the truck stops before running over that box in the road.

I'm sure he would drive a Tacoma... just because he had a couple of bros back in the day named Neils Bohr and 'ol Al Einstein... those three guys probably knew how to calculate mpg.

Sometimes I feel this is the wrong forum for my particular brand of humor. I am now googling Stephen Wright forums...

Exactly! The key to great mpg's is to never actually check....

    Uh....you mean kilometers per liter?

One more thing to try is change the air filter. If with 25K you still have the original air filter it is worth a shot to see if MPG improves.

You are light years ahead of most....

Robert Oppenheimer calculated in mpg's, and he is the guy who got it done.
