Yeah I thought it was just me. We had rain every day here for weeks and it seemed slow to me.

I've been in a heavy downpour recently and the visibility could be a bit better. However, the rain was sideways and about any vehicle would have an issue.

Planning on treating with RainX to help. Also, I second the use of polarized sunglasses to reduce glare during daytime rain. I started doing this a few years ago and it helps a lot.

Rain X and you don't have to use the wipers, just drive faster lol.

I do feel the aerodynamic of the Tacoma doesn't push the rain off as fast as previous trucks.

I have tried Rain X a few times and I end up with big rainbow streaks that makes it even harder to see. I must be applying it incorrectly if all of you use it constantly and dont have issues. Any tips?

I like Rain X for all my windows except the Windshield because it makes the wipers skip, thowever the Rain X Washer Fluid works well though.

Is this a serious thread? No, granted it may rain harder in FL than NH :notsure:, but no never had a issue driving or seeing in a hard down pour.

I had grabed Rain X to apply on my truck. So far it better but I faced with another problem. The windshield blade was skipped when raining. Do you have any experience on this problem?

You could try to clean off the windshield with isopropyl alcohol and see if that helps

    Welcome!

All the answers here are good and any one of those will help. I personally wax my windshield with a heavy dose of maguires cleaning wax. I saw the rain you had on the news, heck, I’m only 60 miles from you and yeah, it looked really bad. I would think anyone, at that time, had the same problem as you!!!

I will bring this issue to dealer when the first warranty at 5000miles. But it will need 4K mile more. Hope we receive better solution here before dealler saying that they can't help :)...By the way I want to ask here because it just happen with my new 2018 Tacoma but nothing wrong with my '2000 4runner even the rain is heavier.

I don't have any problems with my wipers skipping either.

One trick I learned is to treat your wipers with the Rain X too. After you wipe it into the windshield, take that same towel and wipe your blades.

The Tacoma wipers are slower than most others on fast to clear heavy rain. I keep trying to go to the 4th setting. Rain X is bad to use in your washer fluid, it ruins the sprayer pump motor and sensor or something similar. Ruined my VW one. Haven't tried the rain x windshield stuff on the Taco but was shit on a Jeep

You have a low fluid sensor in your taco?
