It's very regional. I mean I'm in Nashua on the boarder. 40 minutes from Boston. Also hour from most of the really big ski mountains and lake Winnipesaukee. I rent a duplex for $1k /mo.

My parents house downtown went for $182k on the 80s. It's now at $360k or so.



But that's what I really like about the north. Everything is really close to each other. 5 hours north of Boston and you're getting run off main roads by Moose.

 

I couldn’t believe when my step sister told me she got a brand new construction 4br 2500sq house right outside fort Bragg in NC for $168k my folks bought their house in SW FL with Gulf access for $220k. Meanwhile I’m up here stuck on overnights because I’m one of the few that doesn’t have a masters degree.
We have a lot of professional students in this area...still tryin to figure out what they want to do when they grow up. (See:liberals)

 

It seems like they go to school to make tuxedos for elephants, spend 200k on a degree, and then they get upset because they can't find work.



I didn't get into welding because I enjoy slowly killing myself. I did it because it's a job. A big foreign concept up here.

 

Mountains, city or ocean within a very manageable drive is great.

I'm within a few hours of the Gulf, Hotlanta, and the Appalachians

 

From my time spent down south, the majority of the south would get along just fine with Maine.

Just practice the saying " you can't get there from here " and you'll blend right in.

No shit. You can get great land for 5K an acre around here. I just looked at 17 acres with a creek for 71K.

My brother in law listed 10 of his 11 acres for $450k and that’s a steal up in Amesbury.
