And some of us are returning to school. What's even worse, we have two days to listen to the leadership fill us full of bullshit, then kids show up for two more days of their bullshit. As you can tell, looking forward to the bullshit of the week.

Back to school time and everyone forgets how to drive

Did something on Saturday afternoon that I haven't done in years....lay down on the couch and took a nap

 

Yessir. The Mrs has to go in today for some beginning of the year meeting BS, goes in tomorrow again, not Wednesday, and then back Thursday, and first day of school on Friday.

It has begun.

There is a big debate on the snowmobile forums over these fat bikes. They love to ride the groomed trails that we snowmobile riders pay dearly and labor over all winter. I could care less as I'd rather share the outdoors, but they better understand they are on very, very dangerous ground. We groom these trails flat as a pancake for a reason. It's not gonna be good for either group when someone gets killed because they are on their headphones and a fast, quiet 4 stroke comes around the corner. Last year was the first time I saw one on the trails which tells me they are getting more and more popular.

 

Damn, really? I went to private school so we always started late (more ya pay the less ya go). Then in college I was in school in Pittsburgh and we started the 3rd Monday of August every year.

 

That wood pile ain't gonna split itself man, Sept. 1st on Saturday!

 

Yup i was in public school 1st to 8th and went to private catholic high school (which we started at 7:50 while the public high school started at 7:20). Always started the Thursday before. Get the syllabus and the list of all the stuff needed for classes ans go shopping and finish up getting new clothes or whatever else was needed

 

That's messed up.
We always started on the Tuesday or Wednesday of that week. Kind of ease the kids into it; 3 on, 3 off, 4 on, 2 off, 5 on.

Always hated the teachers that gave you homework on Labor Day Weekend, though. Kind of a pain to do homework while you're camping.

True, but I've only got a little more to go on the shed before I'll be done. Problem is, the nights are getting shorter...Dark at 8:00-8:15 now.

 

Good morning everone!

Jacob starts school on Wednesday, then on Friday they have it off for "professional day". So his 1st week is only 2 days then a 4 day weekend.

 

That's actually the same schedule as Hopedale, too.

 

That's some crazy ass shit!

Really makes me wish I had became a teacher though!

 

I just looked at their schedule because now I'm intrigued. They have an early release every Friday before a vacation week. Makes me wonder how the hell I'm going to get my kid on all these days off when the time comes to have one and everything.

 

Get ready to start using up your vacation time.

 

What, kids these days can't hitch hike? That brings back memories... did any of you guys ever thumb yourselves around? When I was younger I thumbed all the time! A lost art. It's a miracle I'm not dead.
