So when I was dating my wife, she thought lifts were for rednecks and crayon-eaters (to borrow from @RobP62). Since I am the latter but not the former, I had a 50/50 shot with her. Then we became serious and she started driving my lifted PreRunner.

Now she wants a 4Runner Pro, lifted, with all the bells and whistles.

So it's fair to say having a lifted truck helped me get laid and married.

Moral of the story:

Biggest I've done was 18 pounds that wound up around 15 once trimmed.

 

So if the 1.5 hours per pound thing is valid, that’s a long cook for an 18 pounder

 

Yep, eBay. Get the exact part number off of your existing ECU. Type that number into the eBay search box. If there’s one listed of your particular part number, they’re usually $150 or less.

 

That 1.5 hr/lb has been off for me lately. with a wrap, I've been knocking out 12 lb briskets in about 8-10 hours and a full naked cook in about 10-12. and that's at 225° but I would definitely plan on some buffer room on one that big...

Probably due to the 225°. I remember trying to hit 175-200°. It’s been a decade or more since I’ve smoked a brisket though. Miss my Hondo barrel smoker a lot these days.
