    58 is for "gear hunting"

62 is for no throttle response when mashing the throttle taking off from dead stop

NOTE: I'm not saying for anyone to start doing hole shots now. So don't sue me. I looked into it after giving it the boot from a dead stop on about an 80 degree incline hill to enter onto another road. It just missed completely before it found a gear. I've not gone back to that hill yet, but overall the truck seems to be driving great with these 2 updates.

Of course I go on there today to check this thread as I've been busy and believe I have been experiencing the mysterious whine noise from the rear end. Sound like wind going through a flute.......... TSB-0013-18 ???

58 and 62 have the same CAL ID fix so it doesn't matter which one they do.

MrMccrackin is correct. The TSB numbers are not the actual updates, they are the Toyota Service Bulletins that reference an issue with the vehicle.

Either of the two TSB numbers 0058-18 and 0062-18 result in the same updates being applied if they are available for your truck. I have seen members say that sometimes a dealership will reference both in their solution and this just means they have gotten paid twice by Toyota to run the same updates that would have run from either TSB.

Fucking LOL. Eighty degrees is almost vertical There isn't a road anywhere that is at 80 degrees.

actually all 3 TSBs will get you the same Aspirin for your different ailments
77 is old, they will update to the new ECU 04B04
58 is for surge between 40-50 you get ECU 04B04
62 is for stumble at WOT at high altitude and you will get.....ECU 04B04
you pick the one that you think will be most believable by the dealer. If you live in Florida don't pick 62 cause they will be less likely to give it to you since it says specifically for high altitude. If you have a MT then pick 58 cause it's the only one that has the MT ECU in it. If you have a newer '17 or '18 dont pick 77 cause it only applies to '16s and early '17s. you can't apply both TSBs cause the ECU won't allow the second update once the first one is done but Toyota will say that they did them both, they can't. just cause 62 is a bigger number does not mean it's a better update, again, it is exactly the same (unless your a MT)

Using cc even in a light rain is dangerous as hell. Could be a lot more than two people dead.

Update: Had my service done last Wed but was on vacation the rest of the week so didn't get a chance to drive it until today. Drive into work was nice, I'd say it's a 75% improvement so far. I still think it shifts too soon, I wish it would hold 3rd gear a little longer, but it has vastly improved over the factory tune. It doesn't search for 6th immediately and holds 5th way longer. I haven't tried WOT yet but plan on doing so on my way home. As many have said, worth the update.

**Update** I just returned from the Dealership with my new ECM update. The manager asked if after a few days or so would I get back to him on my findings. He along with Toyota was interested in the feedback. Sales Mgr. said, He and Toyota were aware of the problems (and knew of this website) and complaints from the people driving the Tacoma's and want to make it better. I'll give you my first impressions in the first 15 minutes, hardly a good indicator of an evaluation especially since I only had a few instances where I had that dead spot on acceleration in the past six months. 1). The transmission does not quickly look for the higher gear. 2). it seems to downshift a little sooner and therefore upon acceleration is in a better gear and RPM. 3). From stop lights. the gas pedal movement to the truck actually moving is more responsive. Ok that's about it for now. It did say in my invoice that the truck will need to be driven for the" ECM to relearn itself to the customers driving habits. " I told the sales Mgr. I would put a good word in to this site for the no hassle service I was given. Valenti Toyota Westerly R.I. Sales Mgr. Rocky Sposato. Advisor Michael Williams. 2018 TRD Sport

I looked through the TSB's and it appears this is only for the 6cyl. Has anyone had an luck getting the same issues resolved in a 4cyl SR??

Is this right? My engine is 6100 and tran 4100. I watched them hooked up to my OBD and no updates beyond that were available. Nor for anything else....

I don't know what 4100 is but if you have a 2016/2017, the newest Calibration ID is 0400 or 1300, if you have a 2018, the newest Cal ID is 6100 or 7100. If that's what you have then you have the latest.
