Oh I still only do that once or twice a year. But no, definitely don't bother fixing it before AOAA.

You ever jack your front up by the skid plate?

Literally all the time. I just slide my floor jack somewhere in the center and start lifting. It can handle it wherever you put it. Otherwise my jack isn’t high enough to lift the tires, so I have to lift from the center.

Word. It covers the front jack point so I was just wondering. This makes it so much easier.

Definitely a nice perk of the skid. And with the sliders you can put a jack stand under it to hold the weight if you’re so inclined.

I’ve done it a few times in the square legs. It’s a nice easy place for it.

    Speaking of fab skills...

I decided to not mount my propane tank on my swingout and mount it in the bed instead. Decided to make a simple mount. Welded the tab on, then realized I couldn’t fit the band through. Cut it off and rewelded

Then somehow the nut got cross threaded I think ( even though I started it by hand) and now the clamp is destroyed. So now I need to buy another clamp, cut, and reweld the tab.

It would save some of the amount sticking out by a little! Thats why I wanna do it. One less thing to potentially hit on a rock.

What sucks for me is I need to cut all the welds, clean it up and reweld it. It’s gonna be a pain.

The part that’s gonna suck is cutting the welds and there’s no way to avoid that unfortunately.
It’s an 11lb tank for camping. Was making a mount for it in the bed.
