Oldest company around?

So I'm sittin' back with a fine bottle of Weihenstephaner Hefe-Weissbier (aka, awesome Bavarian beer). On the label, it says "world's oldest brewery, since 1040 AD".


That's pretty damn old to still be around. Does anyone know of an older company than that that is still in business?

As far as I'm concerned the church is the longest running business. They perform hostile take overs, they have income, constantly wanted for tax dodging and always have a hand in back pockets of politicians.

 

There's a reason they've been in business this long

I'm developing a theory that states that a beer brewed under Reinheitsgebot purity law of 1516 (or at least all the ones I've seen so far that claim to be) are unquestionably sublime.
