What are your thoughts on jailbreaking? Reason asking is bc I caught crap from my cousin (works for an apple store) because I unlocked my phone. He says jailbreaking my iPhone is stealing from apple. I don't pirate apps or anything. I just have it where I can change the appearance of my phone. Here's a pic of how my springboard looks at the moment :p

tell your cousin you paid for it and you can do whatever you want with it, jailbreaking has amazing apps that apple doesnt approve because they are a holes. like making an iphone a mobile hotspot. apple is stealing from us by not making apps like that native.

in my opinion doing its not a problem...

but I still say I wouldn't do it, I had my 1st gen and my 3gs jailbroken on and off...I decided I just like it how it is, jailbreaking is cool at first to change themes and such, but then I just felt like my performance and battery life and everything was just in the pooper

Yeah the battery thing does suck. I have my internet threaded to my laptop tho from it so that kills it even quicker.

I think jailbreaking is dumb, but that's just me. It would void my warranty. :p

Jailbreaking an iphone is the only way that we are able to use the iphone here in Iraq. It also allows us to use the iphone in other countries when on vacations. It's not stealing when you don't have a contract with AT&T.

    warranty?
Just restore it. If youcan't restore it then the issues was far more serious than the jailbreaking software.

    Dtunes is priceless.
    I have been jailbreaking for 2 years. i can't use a non-jailbroken phone.

    absolutely.

Up until Redsn0w/Blackrain jailbreaking was kinda unstable.
But since last July its been very stable.

I mean, jailbreaking is cool if you like it for the applications. I just like it as-is. :)
